I have not driven for them, but they towed my car and held it over memorial day. My purse contents and personal information such as checks, insurance info and car info were spread all over the car in plain sight. My debit card was removed from my purse and put under my rear windshield wiper OUTSIDE my car in plain view. A personal check was left with account number and routing number in plain view. My boyfriends walete was stolen. I tried to file a report with the Gilberts police dept but the officer told me my complaint isn't valid as I can't prove anything. The Gilberts police dept is only two blocks away from the Tow company and a Gilberts cop works at the tow company. I had to cancel all of my accounts and my bf and reported compromised social security info to the social security administration. Schock management told me I can't watch their video surveillance because it isn't detailed enough to see anything.I'm LIVID. These people have a DIRTY operation going on. I'm telling everyone because I was VICTIMIZED by this place. Everyone needs to know about this company's theft of information

The bf got a DUI .The cops searched the car. I wasnt there when it happened, and i fully understand why stuff was moved,i get that my bf messed up and beleive me its been addressed.but the lieutenant at the station said they reviewed the video and the cop did not place my debit card outside the car under the wiper blade. As for the other personal info,it was left right out face up where anyone can see it on the seats and the dashboard. The debit card outside the car and account number/routing info in plain sight and the missing wallete really set me off. The lieutenant said he will burn me a copy of their video of this event because he said the officer that pulled the car over wouldn't have messed with my cards. Something is off . Why was my information left in plain sight? Why the missing wallette? Why the card outside the car,if someone was going to take something you'd think they'd take it not leave it in a bizzare spot? The lieutenant told me he can't confirm or deny a wallet in the video because my wallete was in the car as well as my Bfs.( I left my purse in the car)

So what you think after they arrest someone for a DUI which could have resulted in the loss of lifes because your boyfriend decided to be an idiot that they should make sure all contents left in your car are safe and sound and make sure they have a guard dog watching your vehicle while its on the impound lot? Welcome to the DUI getting arrested world... Don't let your idiot boyfriend use your vehicle while he's drinking and you wont have any issues like this.

HalpinUout,I'm not debating that. I cannot agree more on the stupidity of it. Compromising a totally different persons information, taking a wallette, and leaving a debit card under a windshield wiper is ridiculous though. I do not understand why that had to happen. Yeah I expect some degree of professionalism ,no guards or ridiculous ideas but leaving all that on the dashboard, messing with my card and account info, this goes too far.

DUIs no laughing matter. That being said there's no reason for the cops to have left that much personal information in plain sight. Common sense dictates that if they want to prevent crime (which is part of their job) they wouldn't leave a debit card and checks laying out so someone could get the info and commit a crime. If the OP has seen the police dash video that kinda narrows it down as to who's responsible. I'd strongly suggest getting a lawyer and going after the tow company as it seems they're most likely the guilty party. At a minimum a lawyer could get a subpoena to get their camera info to see if they're telling the truth about the lack of detail on their surveillance equipment.

The bf screwed up. No doubt about that. However, there are thousands of dishonest tow companies in this country. I know for a FACT there are tow company employees that go through vehicle contents. Towing industry remains a dirty little secrect because it only affects a small percentage of the population.

The stolen wallette had his social security card in it. I posted because this towing company ,to all appearances, seems to be stealing personal information and I want people to know about it since filing a complaint requires solid evidance and the police did not count my card under the wiper as proof of anything, even though the card had accululated dust against the window and had clearly been there at least a day.. In no way do I defend getting a DUI. Thats not the point of the post. The point is no company has the right to take account info, wallettes, and social security cards. No company has the right to put anyone's personal info on display to the extent that we both have to close bank accounts, make sure the checks are cancelled ,and contact the social security administration. He blew just over the legal limit not good, not acceptable in any sense, but that doesn't justify the theft and abuse of any and all personal information found in the vehicle.that's messed up.

Gotta love everyone preaching from their high horse about DUIs when they probably can't even keep their rig in their own lane sober falling asleep after 10 hrs of driving.

That is proof enough for me. If I ever get arrested for DUI in Gilbert, Illinois I will insist that the Gilbert police do not call Schock Towing.
