Veriha trucking out of marinette wisconsin has come up with a scam called Driver Cam. They say it's legal but it invades drivers privacy. Drivers have been blocking view into living area's and told to take blockage down so the whole inside can be seen. Some drivers have complained to their dispatchers about camera's recording while they are in bunk area on 10 hour break and were blown off. You cannot block camera at any time or you are disiplined. Management can trigger by remote the camera at any time. If you go to website they will sell the kit for it when you buy the system. Yet they tell you they can not do this.
If they can't why are three women say they are filing lawsuits? I look at it this way its their toy, toys break. I'll just bide my time until the outcome of the legal processes going on comes out of the courts.

I havent researched any of this, but I believe there are laws that do protect a drivers privacy in their living area, just as a landlord cant invade a rental home or appt. or use a camera inside it. A drivers sleeper berth area is a home even if the truck belongs to the company. Just some logic and reasoning in what I know of the laws in a country that seems less and less free everyday and I think it a good case for a lawyer to look at.

I guess the idea of all the drivers telling them to pound sand and go to work for another co.
never crossed their collective mind.Western flyer, bergy, ethos and 3 others Thank this. -
I would quit as soon as the camera was installed.

Hang a sign up in front of the camera that reads
" do not disturb , having sex with your wife " -

There are some good points here. IDK the size or scope of the company , but if drivers flat out refused to drive under surveilance , there would be no company. No company= no cameras. Done.
mje Thanks this. -
Has the company said anything about drivers having their manhood in their hand while urinating in the middle of the night? If they did then you'll know they are watching your every move.
mje Thanks this.
