Do people actual hold grudges against companies that long ago and expect it to be relevant today?

when a company has a grudge they put it on your DAC.
they know it lasts 10 years and it is relevant.

If that company is operated by the same people, then yes, it's still relevant.

If the company is being run at 2006 standards today it would be relevant regardless who is running the show. Any company that refuses to stay up to date gets swallowed by the ones that do stay current. You and I can both list pages of companies that got ate up by the likes of Swift or Jb{just to name a couple}.

NCI is far from operating at 2006 standards. Safety and reliability are key factors in the loads I deliver daily. If I cant haul it safely or legally It dont get moved. If I cant make an on time delivery the load gets repowered or rescheduled. If I go over 11 drive or 14 total I get called by safety. I have never in 4 years been told or asked to do anything that could even be considered illegal. In 4 years I can count on 1 hand the times Ive had to call payroll over an issue, and was handled within an hours time. I Have preplans 99% the day before and sometimes as far as 4 days in advance. Its been weeks since I seen a week of less then 2500 miles. Today is my 4 year anniversary here. The loads and company today compared to 4 years ago are so different.{let alone 8}. I drive for NCI because I want to. I have answered questions for drivers without a hint of "NCI is better then anyone else" But I answer questions relevant to today, not bashing a company for whatever reasons from 8 years ago or 19 when I started.

Yes, things can change in a company quickly, same ownership but new managers in key positions, and the entire complexion can change in 6 months, for better or for worse. At the very least a new trend can be detected by most and this trend will usually continue.

As much as I hate HireRight {DAK} you are correct. Some companies do abuse DAK and most new drivers are the ones that get shafted by these jerks. An experienced driver will use the same system to file disputes and go as far as lawsuits. Where a newer driver will/may not have the funds/experience to overcome a bad DAK report. Even tho some jerk company may try to shaft you with a bad report does that mean you have to be just as a jerk? I personally dont live in the past.

I live in AZ I should be giving notice to my employer this week and Joining NCI. I was hoping to just run the SW region from Phoenix to California, I heard about losing some contract in AZ but was told by a driver this week that a new contract came together. He said running just this region he gets 2200-2600 miles a week and they are the shorter routes under the 600 so 38 cents per mile.
