Firstly I need to make it clear that I am not referring to the DMT out of Florida. These are the weasels at 1701 Lacy Drive, Fort Worth, Texas.
    MC 671280
I have been trying to get this guy Dennis Michael Taylor to pay me what he owes me since the end of April. So if Google led you here you are in the right place.
I was in the process of setting up my own authority and I had started to become bombarded with phone calls by everyone in the world trying to sell me something. So I foolishly left a message on my voicemail letting folks know I was good for everything.

    THAT DID IT!

He called up for something and heard the message. Next settlement check bounced to the moon. $3,000 plus.
I had 2 checks due me after that.
    I wasn't happy!
I was then around because I was chasing the authority and everything attached to it for the bulk of May. So I kept going into their office and politely asking for some money. Slowly I was doled out a check here and another there.
Finally I get to the point where I gotta go.
    Guess what.
No more money! Surprise, surprise, surprise. Not!
I screamed and shouted and threatened and got a final $1200.
    That was it.
I have been trying to extract the final $1300+ for the last 2 weeks and I am done.
    Nothing!
No messages no more promises and naturally no more money.
It is almost funny. Except I'm not laughing. I needed that money for fuel and everything else.

Well life goes on and I am going to try and file a court case tomorrow. I doubt that will prove fruitful still I'll give it a shot.
The main purpose of this thread is to warn other drivers off DMT in Ft Worth.
It is a shoestring company advertising on Craigslist 'coz it's free and frequently doesn't have money on it's fuel cards and EZpass account.
The money is lousy. $1 a mile and a mystery fuel charge. Mystery because when you ask one of the 3 in the office how much it is they never know. Weird because they set it and make out the checks. I always settled on 0.30c/mile.
Deadhead is 80c/mile and you eat the first 50 miles - all miles are of course are shaved in their favor. They don't tell you that in orientation.

So why did I go there?
I was extremely suspicious from day one but I needed somewhere to holdup while I took care of a few things. I am not surprised Dennis Taylor has screwed me. Par for the course.

OK so that is it, do yourself a favor and stay the hell away - well unless you like spending money on fuel and working for free so somebody else can profit. Good luck on that.

    You live you learn!
    The attorney was zero.
The small claims court was a 10 out of 10.
Looks like I can handle this myself. If I win, can't see me losing it is open and shut, and they don't pay I can hit their credit and get a sheriff to visit their office, seize assets and auction them off to pay me.
What is more the court cost and the cost of the sheriff they will also be liable for.

Going to take a while but I am going to enjoy the process and learn as much as I can.

    This gets better!
The attorney called me and was very helpful. He said it is open and shut. He is at the moment sueing several trucking companies in Texas for exactly the same thing. One for $300,000.
The final conclusion was he will charge a grand basically. Go to the court, file, let it percolate then - if I want to - hand it off to him towards the end and he will make sure the judgement is in the correct format at the end. Apparently if the final verdict / judgement isn't in apple pie order it can be ignored or some such thing. The judge doesn't care too much so it it is up to the plaintiff. In this case an attorney.
All legal fees would be liable.
So because this numbnuts won't settle in an honest fashion with a guy just trying to make a living the bill is going to double. He buys 2 months and doubles his cost. I sometimes wonder about people.
$1300 and peeing off a OO is going to cost probably $2500. Not a good way to run a trucking company.
Oh well you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him change color. Never mind.

Thank you. I am going to try my best. I was going to send him a registered letter with a layout of what is going to happen and how the cost is going to escalate but in the end I thought forget it! I am just going to hang back and let it all playout. It will be fun and if the worse comes to the worse I can absorb the loss.

Yes I agree with you but he doesn't have a wife and kids. His wife divorced him and his son is working in the office with him - old enough to have a wife and kids of his own.
Actually I am the one with the wife and kids - and their expensive LOL. She just hit me up for a phone and there is a house to be built. I need the money that I have worked for and the fuel reimbursed that I have purchased on somebody else's behalf. I am sure you understand.
