Don't believe everything you hear. Specially from a disgruntled driver. I have been 1 year with them and I'm very happy

I was a Carroll Fulmer driver for about 3 years 2011- 2014. I ran my but off cuz I needed the cash. In the beginning it was great. Miles were great, I go home with a load so I could hit the ground running. I'd average 2600-3000 miles per week whether I went home or not. Fast forward 2 yrs, dispatch after dispatch change my miles are down to about 1900-2200 miles per week. And yes, I spoke with my DM and his boss and one of the Fulmers to no avail. Sure, I'd have a 3000 mile week occasionally but that became few and far between. Not complaining but $500 a week wasn't cutting it. And I'd If went home after being out 3 weeks, it was even less. Never understood why companies punish drivers for taking home time, home time should be paid on some level as well. So I cut my losses and moved on. They weren't a bad company, I got along great with all my DMs. They even tried to get me to stay, but what they were offering still wasn't anywhere near what I get now.

I don't pay ANYONE to work for them....and I don't pay ANYONE'S bills with my own money. That right there would have been my last conversation with them.

This is intriguing to me. You have just been put in charge of Carroll Fulmer trucking company. How would you fix the perceived problem highlighted in red? Remember, you get paid by the mile and when you are home, you run no miles (home time is resting and relaxing at home, doing things not associated with company business).

Conversely, when you ran those 2600-3000 mile weeks, did you take any home time? If so, whatever the plan you come up with to pay you when you go home has to apply to the 2600-3000 mile weeks also.

Never have i been charged ever for a lumper fee. Or have ever been asked to pay out of my pocket. That guy has no idea what he is talking about. When we get lumper fees we simply get on the Qualcomm. And requested. And we get the confirmation. Thats it same as all trucking companies do. And on our settlement. Its added on than its subtracted back out. So the driver is never charged for it or taxed on it. They do add $6.00 to it but again its added on then subtracted so again no charges to the driver. So that guy should learn to read his weekly settlement.

I agree. I don't understand how people can go without understanding their settlement sheet or pay stub (whether it's paper or on-line). And even worse....there are people that never look at them, and just la, la, la, go on down the road week after week.
The only reason I work is for the check (otherwise I'd be retired)...and you can bet your butt that I keep a close, close eye on everything related to my pay---one discrepancy and I am on the phone getting it corrected.
I even photo-copy receipts before turning in the original and write the expense down in a notebook with date, what it is, and where I was when I spent the dough. You know....arm myself with as much ammunition I can get for a fight if the company tries to rip me off.

One thing I thought was ridiculous when I drove for a big company, was when I'd take out an advance for expenses---I usually did the figuring ahead of time, and just take out what I need for the expenses (rounded to nearest dollar)---but the company would take the advance out of the check I had coming, and not the check I was currently working on....so in essence, the receipts didn't cover the advance because the company wouldn't wait a week and match the receipts against the advance so that nobody owed anybody anything. It all evens out the next week, as I get my dough back...but my obsessive compulsive ### had a hard time accepting it.

And their fleet looks like a rolling scrapyard,do they ever wash those things? If they did they would probally fall apart in the wash bay

They are not falling apart. But I guess they get dirty running all them miles. We don't sit waiting for loads. And I guess not Mitch time to get them washed,
So I guess that answers your question .
