If you are not used to playing with politics then this is not a company you want to work for. After almost 3 years here I was discharged for denting the bumper on the truck I was driving. I was issued a new truck over 300,000 miles ago and had no violations and not one accident. The dent was me and I admitted to it. No cops called and not another vehicle was involved. The so called safety manager said since I was on probation it was necessary. Well, I know of a driver that was in the same situation and he had a real accident. Pulled the trailer over this guys vehicle and the cops were called and the insurance company was involved but this guys is still working. Another driver has wrecked not only the new truck he was issued but has wrecked 3 trailers that I know about. All of which were swept under the rug by the Safety manager. He too is still working. So its who you know that keeps you working. When they issue a truck to you its set at a specific speed which is supposed to be 65. They tell you that is it and nothing you do will change that. ########!!! It depends who you are. There are drivers that have there trucks turned up to 80 plus miles an hour. These guys are bullet proof. Connected. They run illegal and are protected. I also was told "if you get your passport then you will make a lot of money running to Canada" that also is BS. I got my passport and went a total of 1 time. That is because they will want you to go in the winter when the regular guys are chicken to drive in the snow. When spring comes around you go back to running to the east coast and the regulars go back to make the money in Canada when the weather is good. Do yourself a favor a look elsewhere. There are lots more companies out there with better benefits and better working conditions. Trust me.

44 years and you still going around putting dents in bumpers? Maybe they think you are just too old to drive. The other young guns just made a few mistakes and they learn. You just go around seeing what you can and can't get away with. This is monstrosity!!

You were on probation? After being there 3 years? What were you on probation for? Sounds like there's maybe a little more to this story.

Any company with a 3 year probationary period is one to be avoided.

A 3 year probationary period should indicate something more serious.... Seems like there's a little more to this than just what was told on the original post...

He may not have been on probation for three years. Perhaps he 'forgot' something that happened more recently.
There's always three sides to every story...yours, mine and the truth.

If he was on probation when he was fired that means he did something else he isn't telling us about....I worked there for 14 months from 11/11 to 03/13 and I'm going back later this month. There's probably a lot he isn't telling us. It's a good company to work for if you do your job, can run at least 3k a week regularly, don't hit anything, stay out of trouble with the law and don't rack up a bunch of CSA points. Clearly he did not fit that mold.
