    Yes, definitely ON duty work! Don't lie for anybody. For all you know there's a DOT cop watching you do it and grabs you when you pull out! It Happens! A couple months ago when DOT did the blitz a bunch of our trucks got grabbed and they were after logs, it must have been cops from other areas because were local and log exempt and a local-ish guy would have known that. Point being, you never know.

    or better yet, if you get into an accident, you get audited and it's found out you actually were involved in the accident while exceeding your 70 hours by not logging on duty during all the swapping of trailers throughout the week.
    Lawyers live for this kind of garbage.

    Then...

    YOU = Screwed

    It's just not worth taking the chance.

    Very true....You might be able to fool the DOT now and then, but if you get in a wreck (whether its your fault or not), The diesel cops will be the least of your problems.

    If you guys want to get technical about inspections......As required by 49 CFR ? 392.9, a truck driver must inspect his truck and cargo within the first 50 miles of a trip, whenever the driver changes duty status and when he/she drives more than three hours or 150 miles. Now everybody raise your hand if you do all of this? I don't see a lot of hands
