If you do not wish to explain yourself then I suggest not posting on public forms. Forms allow for 2 way discussions, not unchallenged statements. Forums are not some ware you can just make a claim and not expect questions about it.

Any lawyer would be eager to take the case if they though it could be won, they could care less where you live. No lawyer will take the case because you are beyond the statute of limitation in Florida for old debts (http://www.bankrate.com/finance/credit-cards/state-statutes-of-limitations-for-old-debts-1.aspx). Why did you wait so long? I wouldn’t have waited more the 6 or 8 months.

First off i didnt say i waited 6 years, those are your words i said thats how long ago this took place sounds to me like there are a lot of panther people on here . Check the complaint sites im not the only one ripped off by them. Go to the rip off report. Dont have any idea where you live but try getting a lawyer across the country to represent you. Most lawyers that are affordable arent licensed in multiple states . And the ones who are cost more then what you would recover. Its a mythe you can get attorneys fees on a civil case . Like i said do your home work and stop judging some one you dont even know . Like i said just trying to help but at this point i dont care if you get robbed maybe when you do you can come on here and i can call you a lier too.

I don't think anyone is calling you a liar, I think people are curious about your situation and wondering why it appears as if you waited so long. You're going to take a fair amount of badgering due to the lack of details in your post and your unwillingness to share any more of the story. People are not going to be sympathetic to your situation, and your warning with no details will not end up deterring anyone from seeking employment there. Try to be a positive force for change and share a bit more of story.

You are correct that you can not recoup the attorney fees when it goes into civil court, but you can recoup the filing fees. It all comes down to how the attorney bills you! If he bills you for legal consult and separates attorney fees and filing fees than yes, you are screwed. Now if he is a nice guy and puts EVERYTHING under filing fees and is willing to stand up to charging you that much for filing, than yes you can recoup ALL money paid to him and filing the suit. The only thing that would kick you in the arse is if the county/city that you file in has a cap on the amount of fees that you can recoup. Than the lawyer will be limited.

I have ran in to this with an electronics company that I was putting together and had some shady customers. Low and behold, I was in the same state, but hours away from them. luckily their county allowed online filing, so I only had to show the day of court.

Now back to this though, have you contacted the local district attorney for the city/county they work in and see if they could assist you in any criminal proceedings for theft of services? You also need to look in to the statute of limitations for that state. Each state has a statute of limitations on the amount of time you have to collect on any debt that is owed to a person/company.

    Just my $.02 ....

Sounds like they were unpaid invoices due to him when he ran for Conway and that Conway failed to hand over all their accounts due to Panther when Panther bought them out. It is hard to know for sure when a poster doesn’t give any details and you have to pull information out of them. I guess according to the OP it is my job to research his problem :biggrin_25523:. If the unpaid invoices were from when he ran for Conway then it would seem the complaint should be with Conway, not Panther.

Heated posts saying “XYZ Company is bad, they own me money, do not work for them” are not really much help to anyone other than the OP as they let them vent.

you are right you don't have to explain to anyone.. yet you came on a PUBLIC FORUM and did explain. Then on said public forum people thought your story may not be the whole story and now you got your feelings hurt. I find it hard to believe you have tried to get said money you claim you are owed, its not that hard to do. you not living there has NOTHING to do with it. you don't need a attorney call state labor force and the AG if you are telling the truth:biggrin_25513:then this will be open and shut something you should have done six years ago.. You are welcome....ROTF
