I'm new to this forum experience, but I am so disgusted with my husband's employer, JB Hunt. He works a Local, is home every evening around 6 or 7 and then is gone again in the middle of the night. He was told he would be making around $46,000 a year. He brings home no more than 325.00 a week and he hasn't started insurance yet. He doesn't make enough to pay bills and works long hard hours. I feel like that have lied to him and this to me is fraud to portray an employer in a good light and then "Bam", totally not true. I also think it is wrong to make them have to wait and hour or two hours before getting paid while waiting to get their load or waiting to get unloaded. It isn't their fault and they are working so they should be paid. I also think it is wrong that people in the Northern States make more for this time that in the Southern States. I can see a little more mileage pay, maybe, with the winter conditions, but not the waiting time. They should make the same and be paid the minute the truck is signed in at destination. I hope he can find another local job and make what he deserves to be paid. They are also constantly making errors in what he is to pickup so that also makes problems and again he has to wait and then give them Free hours due to their mistake! Does anyone else have these problems?

He needs contact someone (fleet manager?) and in a professional manner ask..."What do I need to be doing to make the $46,000/yr that was advertised for this position?"

I like that idea as it seems to be the professional way to find out, but I just don't know what more he can do. He is working full hours as is, up to the limit!

$325 for 70 hours a week. $4.64 per hour, give or take. I made more than that working at Taco Bell in the 1990's in High School
