I totally agree with you. He's not worth my time, or ours. But this is trucking, and we talk about it.

 

Problem with that news story is it was a hit piece designed to make all the soccer moms mad so they go complaining to the government for more regulation. In which the gov will enjoy making things worse. when all said and done the drivers will suffer for it.

Had the story been a true fair and balanced story. it would have been a hour or more long interviewing many drivers getting honest driver opinions. And would have pointed out the many safe drivers we have on our roads.

Is there bad drivers? yes. is there bad companies? yes. has the government screwed up when it comes to the trucking industry? yes. How should it be fixed should have been the story with good logical solutions to the problems.

 

If I remember correctly, he only had to go another 160 miles. He could have taken a quick 20-25 power nap instead of fighting with dispatch for 20 minutes. It's amazing what a power nap can do for you.

 

He didn't want to. He doesn't know how to work, nor does he care.

 

I think he wanted to set up a utube video and that's what he did ,wasn't he making other videos? ....this situation had help from abe and topped off with dispatch coming out on stage on que ,according to : "abe trucker stories productions" .........but the point is : there are many other situations like this ,going on for real

I will say I find it comical his claim to fame is not wanting to drive tired, and he just took an oilfield job driving a sand can... Cuz sand drivers are never tired when they gotta roll right?

Yeah that 20/20 clip, and that's all it was, a clip, portrayed all us drivers as pilots of trucks that are capable of running at 80 mph, and that we tailgate four wheelers all the time. A lie is a lie, and if you say it often enough, people will believe it, and as far as those accidents of 2012, what they didn't tell you was that over half of those were caused by four wheelers doing something crazy, because they don't know any better, and the poor driver, who is piloting a 44 ton rig that doesn't have the finesse and maneuverability of a sports car, ended up wrecking it to avoid possibly killing the crazy 4 wheeler. It's the American Trucker that makes this nation great and strong, for without us there would be no America, as we know it today.

 

I think Abe is well "no comment" but I think his "run hard get paid" line is quite comical so I used it in my sig pic, gotta have humor without it life stinks RUN HARD GET PAID!!!!!!! LOL

 

To bad I get paid by the hour so really it should read "RUN SLOW GET PAID!!!!!!!!"
