Yep 10-1 bad to good is standard. You just have to know that going in and filter it. It is also human nature to tell another person the bad things that happen over the good. Just listen to the lunch counter. Its always the bad things that happen that drivers talk about. That said these resources can teach a person a lot in a short time. Without internet message boards I probably would have started at either Schnieder, Create, or a small coast to coast reefer team outfit. None would have paid as well as where I started. When I posted on different boards where I wanted to work I was told it was impossible to get on there right out of school. I knew it wasn't from reading posts here and elsewhere.
Take the reviews in here with a grain of salt

If what you say is true, than why is it that well over 98% of drivers quit in the course of just one year?
Oh, and they are leaving of their own volition; it's not that they are let go.
In this "down economy" where jobs in general don't pay very well any more, it says an awful lot that a driver would rather "take his chances" than continue to endure the lousy pay and conditions that all large trucking companies have to offer.
BTW, the best attitude in the world isn't gonna' go far when you make $650.00 a week for up to 100 hour work weeks.Lone Ranger 13 and Toomanybikes Thank this. -
What kind of salt are we talking about here?
Is it iodized,or sea salt?I dont trust salt..
One time i got some fries while driving at Schneider.
They were too salty.I will never drive for Schneider again.
Buncha jerks, havin me eat salty fries, and drive.
Dont even get me started on Wendyz, and those new seasalt fries.
I aint taking no more salt..not even a grain, unless its with UPS.
They got good expensive salt -
Then there is also the problem here if you say something good about your company, people here will accuse you of being a recruiter or some office lackey posing as a driver. You know what? Some people actually like the job they have and where they're at. Isn't that weird?

Take joseph for example. He was with lessors for quite a while, left and came back and just the other day was labeled a paid recruiter just for posting good experiences... why? Because the guys that had a bad time are angry.
I had a thread on here with a company and went even as far as someone claiming my dispatcher (who is interracial) was my wife's (who is straight florida cracker) sister and that's why I was getting good miles. This rumor was started by someone that was fired and carried on by another thar got kicked out of orientation because he didn't qualify because he couldn't stop hitting things at a previous job. I'm scouting a company now to leave my job for, and I'm taking good and bad reviews with a grain of salt. I'm looking at the pay, miles, Bennies, home time, equipment, etc.. then I'm going to do my job and make my own assumptions.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
I had a real bad exp with 1 company and sued them. But never have I come on a forum and created a thread about how bad a company treated me why because except for that one I have never had an issue with management or dispatchers that would cause me to have anamosity.I'm not happy with maybe the miles the pay ect i'll try and talk to my dispatcher and has went to upper management to try and get things resolved. If no changes then i'll move on.Some of the companies give a good reference on me ive been told by future employers.

One thing I've noticed over my years here. ONE complaint about a company can generally be taken with a grain of salt like the OP suggests. But when SEVERAL appear there may very well be something to it.
Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
I'm not defending the bad companies, but, using JB as an example. They have 10,000 drivers, if 10% of the drivers all came on here and talked bad about the company, you'd have 1,000 complainers. From thr outside, that is impressionable, never mind the other 9,000. Of course I am over simplifying it a lot.
Sometimes, I believe, a lot of drivers become disgruntled with the job in general or had unrealistic expectations (probably brought on by a recruiter) and what ever misery they have they will transpose it onto their employer. I'm not saying the employer is innocent, but I am just talking about the driver at this moment.
At the same time, there are the dispatchers who have deaf ears about the troubles a driver might be having at home. Probably because, the dispatcher has heard every sob story there, whether they are justified or not.
But like all things in life that people rave or rant about, I seldom take them at face value. Almost nothing is ever as good or bad as people say it is.
