As soon as I see a driver wearing that crap I know right away whether or not I want to talk to him.
Some people have no sense of professionalism at all.
And I guess others probably feel they have to walk around looking, and for that matter smelling, like they just crawled out from under a bridge in order to continue to lend credibility to the "evil company" narrative.
Well, not this driver. I have a little too much personal pride.
Take the reviews in here with a grain of salt

Should I respect the drivers who I see just wake up go into the truck grab coffee and donuts, go back to their truck start it up and take off... no pre trip what so ever.... No. They do not get my respect... if I owned a small fleet that is not the type of driver I would want in one of my trucks...
I was at the terminal the other day and at the picnic tables talking with other drivers.. there was a trainee there with his trainer.. a couple other male drivers with a year or two of experience and a female driver just coming up on her 3rd year and myself... well of course with that many drivers the stories of going over Donners Pass and others came up.. so we were discussing mountain driving... which obviously included mention of the Jake Brake... the trainee asks How the jake brake works... all the drivers knew to say was... you just turn it on and it slows you down... but none could explain how it works... well... I was able to.. I wanted to know exactly how the jake brake worked and how it actually functioned and slowed the truck... I kept asking until finally and experienced driver, one with many many years took the time to explain it to me...
So.. why is it important to know... how is it that drivers want more pay and respect and they dont know a thing about the engine under the hood.. no wonder they think it is okay to not do a pre trip... they treat truck driving like driving a really big car...
So what you ask... well.. it cost money to maintain a fleet... especially a fleet that is no being taken care of by drivers..
What does any of that have to do with drivers wearing flip flops and looking like slobs.... if you have no respect for yourself you will have no respect for the job duties you demand high pay for and no respect for the equipment you drive.... and drivers who do dress neatly and appropriate for the job, who do pre trips and take care of their equipment know how the flip flopers no pre tripping dregs are ruining the industry... -
Why did this turn into a thread about attire lol? Just who are you all trying to impress anyway? The 300 lb fuel clerk lady at the pee-lot, or the illegals unloading your truck?
RJ33RD Thanks this. -
More often than not new drivers do not know how to be successful at the company they are with... for example.. many do not take the initiative to log on and find a good account to be on... intead they leave it to driver placement. .. well, driver placements job is to put drivers on accounts that need drivers.. not necessarily put a driver on the highest paying account. ..
Also, new drivers tend to hurt their pay checks with accidents, incidents or poor time management and trip planning. .
Also.. new drivers like to company hop.. so they are always swing from bottom rung of the ladder of one company to the bottom rung of the next.... well, you dont finish the race if your also going back to the starting line...Cranky Yankee Thanks this. -
We would all be better off for that.OPUS 7, MachoCyclone, Tonythetruckerdude and 5 others Thank this. -
