YES, I know all too well hence my signature "....there is another w/ an aspirin in their pocket."

I am already worn out in my brief career in trucking, by just having to deal with the BS and endless issues that arise. Heck I'm ready to fall back on the ol' Waffle House for employment.jk

I do not intend to take on another Newbie by the horns, unless I am receiving commission. Sorry folks, I try, but I get discouraged at times.

Well, for the Bottom Feeder Thread, I want to coral the BF Co's together for the educational benefit of learning how they are able to operate in the manner that they do.
I would like to do my part to try to curve these Federal Incentives. That is a personal goal.

I just want to start a lighthearted thread for members to share, vent, expose and learn. Like Thread is supposed to be. Hah!

Please join me on the Thread. I know a little about this issue. I need your experience to actually get something going.
Thanks!

BTW Rick, I'm hanging more in other Forums, steering clear more and more of confronting much. Afterall; my work here is FINALLY done. Thank God!

Good way to end a lengthy Thread though. Good for us, at least.
Hi Kc, I fully understand the waffle house reference,LOL, chin-up ol girl, for you have definitely made a positive difference,we can't change the world on our own, but collectivly we can make a difference, count on me for any valid input I have to offer,I spent over twenty years at heavy truck dealers in Atlanta, I have heard alot of whining, I mean legitimate complaint's and facts. Get a good nights rest and we all will see you soon! God is Good,-Peace out

Thanks Oldfox,

I do appreciate your comments. I am very reluctant to start the Thread on Bottom Feeders. I see the redundancy of the matter.

This topic is a double edge sword.

There are some individuals that cannot be deterred. They literally beg to be exploited and abused. They would probably argue throughout a Thread of this nature, enabling any gain.

I am learning to confront less and less and I am gaining more and more.

I do wish you well in your endeavors.

and the most important question is

Where did you go when you left Carolina Cargo?
Are you not working for another company?

Your sole motivation here is not to help drivers but to hurt Carolina Cargo.
And in doing so you are hurting the chances of drivers who's only chance for driving a truck to begin with may have to be Carolina Cargo.
Not everyone who worked for Carolina Cargo or works for Carolina Cargo has the same bitter taste in their mouth that you do. There are drivers who are homeless and they are blessed to have a place to live while they can make a living. ask anyone who has lived in a cardbourd box or under a bridge.
Compared to that, living in a sleeper and driving down the road is paradise!.

Shamhemforash!!

With CDL schools opening up all over the Nation. CDL training has become a profitable industry.
Now, with the supply and demand these new graduates are faced with the problem of any company giving them their first chance. If this new graduate has a background or MVR problems they will have more trouble getting that first chance with any trucking company.

Employers have more choices available to them. This allows employers to be more particular with who they hire.

This weeds out the drivers that have a background or MVR violation problem from the more pristine ,clean and clear, background.

Employers will lean towards the cleaner background. They will also lean towards experienced drivers.

For a company to seek and solicit ex offenders to drive for them is exploiting these individuals.
Thus creating a "Rare Breed". Desperate individuals that usually don't have any place, but the truck, to call home. They become dependant on a job for a substandard company.

Carolina Cargo Inc. gets away with paying drivers .10 cents/mi because they prey on the weak.
This is shameful!!!

The poor ex offender Should not have been accepted into CDL school unless they could be placed with a variety of companies.
This false hope and cornering of these individuals is taking advantage of the system and making a modern day setting for slavery.

Carolina Cargo Inc offers a second chance to these desperate individuals because no reasonable driver would consider driving for this crazy outfit.

Pharmphail pointed out that his "CDL school even warned his class about this place."
My school did as well. They actually sent new students home that had a felony of certain charges because of placement problems for the school and the individual.

Carolina Cargo Inc has a school in Linwood, NC, Carolina Driving Institute (CDI), they solicit and prey upon the ex offender. This keeps money in their school and a supply of drivers for their CCI trucks. The student is unaware that other companies will not hire them as easily. They are lured into a career that limits their growth potential.
There have been numerous complaints and charges brought about by their business practices. Check with the NC DOT and FMCSA.

I have seen grown men sitting in the yard ,at CCI,with their heads down - crying. They had run for so long so hard + committed to the trip to find their pay check raped with deductions. This moved me. I thought that I was hurting or struggling.
Some of these drivers had their lives ruined.

After several black eyes and knocked out teeth,
the Safety Director, Lewis L, went back behind the wheel in February 09 for CCI. He quit after his 3 trip turnaround, because of deductions to his pay for:
Idiling
Out of Route Miles
Damaged load

His wife ,Bobbie, is the Human Resources Director. He can't even get a break. It is rumored that she will quit as well.
They have mislead so many new hires that they should hang their heads in shame. What goes around comes around.
Karma is a ##*&#!

I have listed several companies that are hiring. Some do hire ex offenders. The "more particular" ones don't.

At least I came up with other solutions than Carolina Cargo Inc.
Do not try to discredit me.
Do your homework before you toot that horn of yours.

I;ve been reading, Kickin Chicking,s and countrycuz back and forth about Carolina Cargo.
" New Drivers! Ex-offender or not,,if you want to end your new trucking career in the first 3-mo, Just run on down and sign up. Your team driver,, the Ist seat, may be on his 3/rd run as a new driver, now truck leader. If you're both careful, maybe things will go OK, but God help if anything goes wrong and you need to call Dispatch for help. That is if you can get anyone, 2/nd they'll CHARGE YOU FOR MAKING THE CALL!!. I could go on for a long time with with why you SHOULD;NT go there
I know next will come,,But what if you're an exoffender? Where else can I go.
Answer,, Anywhere, Dead drivers cant work .

Carolina cargo closing !!!

This transition from Carolina Cargo Inc -to- Carolina Logistics is near.
Currently they have both Companies operating out of their Rock Hill, SC office and subsequent warehouse. They continue to rent space for their Truck Drvr Tng School, CDI.

The drivers will be the last to be notified that there will be a company closing. Leaving the drivers and their families out on a limb, suffering.

This is very sad.

CUZ,

You might want to look for another job yourself. In addition, stop being so negative about other companies that are suggested to Ex Offenders. These drivers need some honest answers and decent employment options.

When CCI closes their doors, again, where will you be as an advocate for these drivers?

Only time will tell.
CountryCuz,

REMINDER 4 YOU!!!
BTW, quit bumping your head. Reread the Thread entirely.

Some consistency in your statements would be a welcome sight; otherwise, you are boring me.
