We both fueled up and went inside to use the boys room and i got my reciept well on the way in there was another cc truck in there.

The guy i was running with and myself stopped to see where they were heading. Come to find out they both that week got hired on out of driving school. Now school thats great you gotta start somewhere but to lost arse student in the same truck??? that redicolous.

After we found that out the cc driver i was with checked their reefer fuel it was down to 1/4 tank he said yall need to top that off just tryin to help you know. Well the answer back shut us both up and i quote

student" what you talkin bout man?"
old timer "put fuel in the trailer tank"
student "what for dont it run off the lectric cord with everything else?"
old timer " no it need diesel fuel just like the truck"
student "ok thanks man"
ol timer as he looks at me " well we got aton of those here, i'm bettin' cc buys that load before its over with"
me "lmao"

I can honestly say i cant stand the pressure to work at that great organization
I'd probrably find that funny an all with the reefer fuel but then I remember the first time my Uncle handed me a pair of coil racks. If anybody else saw how I attempted to use them they would have suggested I use them to beat myself over the head with.

one pair of Carolina Cargo drivers went out west to Cali, delivered their load and promptly headed back east empty. They never thought they had to bring anything back.
another pair left the yard in Rock Hill and bobtailed to Greenville SC to pick up a load at baush and laum. they said were here to pick up load so and so and the they told them to back their trailer up to dock 6. the drivers said"dont yo have a trailer?

the office said "NO dont you ?.
Carolina Cargo exists because there are so few companies that believe in ginving a felon a second chance in life. I see those companies as part of the problem and not part of any kind of solution. Those that preach about love and forgiveness become the biggest hippocrites when their expected to practice that faith in business.
how they judge others will be how they will be judged.

Stay on the porch!!!

My problem is with Countrycuz. Obviously you are recruiting!!!
I know that CCI gives $ 50.00. Or more,to drivers for recruiting other drivers. That is how you get $.
Call CCI and ask.

Check out all Countrycuz's post and see for yourself. He also has post on other trucking sites. On one post a guy rents from him that works # CCI. Then Countrycuz is rolling w/ them. Then he states he is decent and accociate w/ CCI drivers and that they don't work for you ??? Really? Oh, and now you have a video of you rolling out West for them.

Sounds like the owner to me!!!
Or dispatch or Human Resources. You are recruiting either way.

Not to mention one sentence you are understanding of felons. The next time you are judging them yourself, by saying they should have remained behind bars???
Carolina Cargo Inc. Are the criminals here. They exploit drivers especially ex offenders.
Please, please, please!
If you are an ex offender weigh your options before you choose truck driving as your career.
You could make more money at the Waffle House flipping burgers!!!
The WIA program through your local ESC offers training $. CDL training is just 1 part of that training. Do not use your available funding $ to get training that limits your career growth. I never hear that the local HVAC companies only hire felons. They don't talk aout it. They just do it.
All the best!
KC

Recruiting yes,being paid? no

I am trying to help those drivers who have past felonies who want to drive for a living. I do not work for Carolina Cargo therefore I receive no compensation but knowing that I helped someone who is struggling to find work. I am sick of people who are only in to religion and God for what they can get out of it. I see people here use the word felon like other people use the N word. If you really think people are in capable of changing then your saying God is a liar. No go find a minister who will disagree with me.
Truth is people like to feel good about themselves by labeling other people.
Its a sick condition I find in the blue collar classes of people.
I find it less in the wealthy and the educated.
I don't have to classify people based on their past.
I look at what they have done since then and who they are now.
I look at the fruit on the tree and not the scars on the tree from past storms.
Carolina Cargo gets away with its low starting pay because of the hiring practices of 99 percent of the other companies who turn ex felons away.
They are not part of the solution, but the problem!

actually you get an extra penny as an on time bonus.
I started out with them making 12 cents because of experience plus 1 cent on time so I was really getting 13 cents a mile for all miles driven.
if you train for them you get 500.00 after taking the trainee out west three times. plus you get 20 dollars for all stops when training.
there are some very experienced and excellent drivers at Carolina Cargo who just are unable to work anywhere else because of a felony.
But there have been many drivers who have came back to them because of their home time policy which is the best anywhere.
When you come back from out west you can stay home as long as you like.
name another company that gives you that option?

Toot your horn !!!

I think it is funny that you don't have a post for this company under GOOD trucking companies. You knew exactly where to find Carolina Cargo Inc, in The Report a BAD Trucking Company Forum !!!
So, if you want to "Toot your own horn", then find the appropriate forum to recruit from.

I am trying to help fellow drivers to "Set themselves up for success"!

I don't want another unsuspecting driver to get lured into working for Carolina Cargo Inc.
It is their CDL driving career that they are putting on the line, while the company prospers.

The rules really do change according to who you are speaking to. This unorganized CHAOS creates tons of delays and problems for the team.

The driver is charged for any load considered damaged. CCI will not buy the load, you will.

There is no formal training at CCI. Therefore; you really get on the job training. You learn right quick you are on your own.

Drivers please be aware that Log book violations are on you. Do not let a company enforce altering your log book so that they can meet a quota that Superman could not meet. You either have nothing to pick up or a load someone found that is almost impossible to get and deliver in the aloted time. Unreasonable.
This company Dead Heads all the time. They do not have enough business to have loads going out West.
No layover pay. No idiling, so you are left exposed to the heat/cold. Waiting...
These are some of the things that you don't find out until you are already working for them.

I know that Carolina Cargo Inc offers $50.00, or more, to drivers for recruiting other drivers. BEWARE of another driver trying to lure you into this company. They get reimbursed for getting you hired on. A driver could enhance their own salary with recruits each trip.
I don't see how they can sleep at night. I guess they don't care. However, I do care!

Like I said before.
I don't work for Carolina Cargo as of 02/08.
I receive nothing from them.
I worked for them over a year.
I never had to pay for a load.
I never lost a load.
i never had to falsify my log book.
I never had to run over weight.
I never had to freeze at night or sleep in the heat.
things could have changed since fuel went way up last summer.
I cant speak of what is now.
For many people this company is the only one that will let them get their experience before another company will hire them.
And that is a fact.

All that glitters is not gold.

It is not a secret that I don't like Carolina Cargo Inc. "All that glitters is not gold!"
They hire because they fire.

PROTECT YOUR CDL!
Set yourself up for success!

As for trucking companies, these are some suggestions that I have gotten from a few Truck Driver Trng Schools in the Carolinas:

1. Covenant Transport, Inc. Hiring-more particular

2. USA Truck, hiring students for normal freight

3. US Xpress, Charlotte area is good-still hiring

4. Star Transportation, Inc. Still hiring students

5. H.O. Wolding, Charlotte is a good freight area-still hiring

6. TMC, looking for drivers

7. Roehl , still hiring, more particular

8. Colonial, still hiring

9. WilTrans, Training own drivers

10. CT Transport, not hiring until February

11. Arrow, Still hiring, Charlotte area is good

12. CRST, still hiring students

I still love me some Howard Transportation of N. Mississippi, new students and ex offenders.

I also have found that local vendors/distributors will hire new students (Pepsi, Budweiser...). They may be strict about offenders. You will have to search and research. Call some Trucking schools and see if they can suggest something in your area.
I will post info as I find it.

these companies may be hiring but they hire because they also fire and in TMC's case
many drivers dont like their rigid policies and nazi like dedication that they demand.
If you can find a company that will hire ex offenders like carolina cargo does, then that would be wonderful. so many companies make the claim that they hire you if your felony is over ten years old and then they want to know what it was and break their own rules when you tell them and not hire you..
most if not all those companies you listed will not hire ex felons.
we need companies that dont talk out of both sides of their mouth.
