Schneider

I worked for schnider in the past they are not a good trucking company from my own experiences there trainging is good but they treat you like #### never get home unless you drive with them for atleast 1 year if you idle they send you nasty qualcom messages trailers are falling apart hopefully they are getting some new ones in. and the stl's are not very nice. not a family oriented company.

I cut my teeth with those guys. I trained at the Charlotte OC. They are thorough, precise and professional but.......My dispatcher (stl) seemed unable or unwilling to correct some serious issues I had. One, my lane from Big Island VA to Petersburg had no fuel stops...lol...really! Being from the Roanoke area I knew the Pilot on exit 150 would take my comcard so I was responsible for adding this stop to their fuel-stop map. They were consistently pinging me via Qualcom during my breaks and waking me. I would receive trip info to pick-up loads 2 HOURS into my break!!!!!!! How many times I ran over my hours can't be determined but a few dozen has to be close. They also were (as many national companies did that year) integrated a new mapping program designed to *improve* route info. Hahahaha...you know the rest.

This company has superior training but has a very needy area...communication. No doubt I would still work there but the middle management has a long way to go. From what I've learned since then, this happens to many drivers with the larger companies everyday. I left after 7 months to take a job locally as a shuttle jockey. I was much happier, better compensated but I did get great training. For that I am still greatful.

-you can fuel at any Pilot now (not just the map) -but now they want you to fuel at certain ones 90% of the time.

-turn off the Qualcom beep.

-as a driver you need to make the decisions (fueling, sleeping, routes). Management can be helpful, but never take their info at 100%. I would say <80%, but I do enjoy ######## at them from time to time.

I agree. I hate this company too, but I do like their owner operator rates. They are acceptional. Other than that I hate the company.. Would hate to stare at orange day and night.

I also trained for schneider up out of the charlotte NC O.C my STL was horrid i met another driver in the ATL OC and we decided we wanted to team and i told my stl that day. so two days later we are in Carlisle PA. His stl put us in the truck asap and he tried to fight it, even though we were both there. Then we still ended up sitting sometimes and pulling small mile loads, and our getting home was insane. we had to fight to get home on the date we told them then they wanted us to roll back out the day after. I won't be going back to Schneider.

I feel compelled to comment on the heavyhandedness of the moderators on this forum. It is wrong in my opinion to appoint yourself censors and deciders of all that is good and right.
While I agree that a certain order has to be kept, I feel that you overstep yourselves very regularly and could certainly stand to tone it down just a bit.
I'm not sure what "power" being a moderator entitles you to, but, I feel you are a bit too taken with it.
