So, that's like 4 to 5 miles a day? How do you manage?

Roehl was my first trucking job, at first they were OK. Towards the end i would sit for hours waiting for loads and LUCKY to see 1800 miles a week. I wouldn't suggest anyone working at Roehl unless they can live off 400-600 a week. I won't work for those wages, I stayed there for 6 months before I got on with a good small company.

the company don't make him sit on side of the highway thats bad trip planing could be part of the problem why he is getting 1000 miles a week

I only worked for Roehl for four months back in 2010, and I find what the OP said hard to believe. In my time there, I averaged 2,400 Miles a week. I never sat to wait for load, I never drove illegal, neither did they ever try to make me drive illegal. The only time there was something wrong with my truck, they fixed it immediately. I barely ever had to pull into the scales, because Roehl has such a great safety score.

If he just hates otr, which is understandable of course, tell him to switch to 7/7. The money will not be great, but it'll still get him experience, and still get him home frequently.

What was "unsafe" about his equipment? Where was he that he "had" to park on the side of the highway?

yeah, they try to push him to the point where he is out of hours on the side of the highway. He has to turn down loads because they try to force them on him when he doesn't have enough hours to ensure that they are picked up and delivered on time.

on 95 in fayetteville, nc. His bendix system kept going off while in traffic, when he wasn't even close to another vehicle. He was way overdue on pm. He's driving a truck with no mudflaps or brackets. He's been driving with tires that are too big on his truck.
