JB Hunt

I have to say that all you drivers here who are pissed off at JBH may have saved me from making a big mistake! I called the recruiter this morning and, (this should make you all laugh), told them I needed to cancel my orientation that was scheduled on Monday the 10th. When asked why I told him the truth! I was looking at what some drivers on the internet had to say, (I told him mainly “thetruckersreport” and I don’t think anyone said anything good about JBH. He kind of laughed then I laughed. He said “You’re gona believe what they have to say?” I said “well to be honest with you between a recruiter and a driver, hell yes I’m gona believe them! Especially that many drivers!” And as for that recruiter talking to drivers like that, well it's pretty obvious what he is now isn't it? He only enforced everything the drivers were saying about JBH! So I guess I have him to thank too! So thanks A-hole! I’m really glad I found this site! I guess I’ll keep searching and doing more applying now! I gota find some kind of decent company to drive for!?

Glad to hear! Youd think recruiters would figure out that putting down other drivers does not work as a sales tactic. Too bad lying does.
Good luck on finding a better company.

Sweet! Thanks for telling him that! They hate us, I can bet you on it! Of course, they will laugh and try to say we are just bashers...fact is, the truth is getting out about them and it pisses them off. I am so glad you have chosen to better your life! We'll help you all the way, brother!

These companies are good

Congratulations on avoiding one of the worst spider webs out there. Understand that the recruiters and others at places such as JB JobHunt WANT turnover and love it with a passion. The higher the turnover, the more giddy they get. Each new recruit brings them an extra commission jack, understand. You can't win living under such a regime if you're a driver.

Experienced flower pots that bring recruiters nothing are looked down on with contempt by these guys. If every driver at their outfits were flower pots that never quit, recruiters would be out of jobs in a big hurry. But, as we all know, these dudes have plenty of job security, and can even nail down six-figure salaries (and brag about it like JB_Buddy here). I hope that I don't have to tell you that if recruiters have it this good at companies such as JB JobHunt, you as a driver need to stay far, far away from those companies.

Crete is good. I worked for them before, so I know they're good. It takes a bad one to appreciate a good one, understand. My bad one was SwiftQuit based out of Phoenix. Crete is light years better than SwiftQuit.

Roehl is good, based on the many testimonials here. Again, when LOTS of folks have good or bad opinions, you can bet they're right. The overall consensus is "Roehl is good." That's good enough for me, as I trust other drivers' opinions.

I'm saying these two companies are good. I'm not saying they're great. But they're far above companies such as J.B. JobHunt, SwiftQuit, and C.R. England Ad. Stay the hell away from these three no matter what. Turn in your CDL before working for these companies.

You did yourself a favor.

Glad to see that you decided not to go. If we could only convince others about what goes on over there, but very soon....

You can only screw over so many drivers, until you run out. And they do go thru quite a few per year.

Good luck, keep looking until you find a good one. Then come back here, and tell us about it.

Yes, these jokers, too

Yes, stay away from these jokers at Werner, too. I've heard many a bad thing about these guys. I've also seen many a blue werner truck parked at docks waiting hours and hours and hours to get loaded. These were special accounts that were being picked up, and the docks were treating the trucks (and the drivers that drove them) like their little ********

You can throw several more companies into the "avoid them like the plague" category. They're easy to spot. Just look for them in the newspapers advertising every day of the world, 364 out of 365. They'll also have awfully crowded orientation classes week to week and have many a truck be abandoned out in the world that you as a newbie will have to retrieve on your very first run. The bubonic plague is some nasty ####, and so is a company that fits this description. Just as you'd run from the plague, you should also run from such a company.

JBHell NO

Yea! Thanks! You guys are the ones who stopped me from that mistake... well you guys and your JBH buddy... Heh Heh... although I guess I really did always know. I guess I was thinking or hoping that maybe they changed like a lot of things have in the past years, FMCSA rules, etc but I must be stupid because I still want to go back to OTR! Just not JBH stupid at least!... I'm a pretty positive guy so I'm sure things will turn out OK! My younger brother always said that I'm the only person he ever knew that could fall into a pile of #### and come out smellling like a rose...... I just hope I don't dissapoint him!

I tip my glass to you

A toast to you on making my coming here worthwhile. It's good to help newbies like you avoid the minefields and spiderwebs. When I started driving, I thought trucking companies were all alike and truck driving was a sensible profession. A profession in which a guy could work an honest day and get an honest day's pay. Yeah, I was THAT naive. I wouldn't have been that way if I could have come to a website like this back in the day.

Now go with a company like Crete. They'll treat you pretty well.

He's Right

When I was at Werner's orientation the class was packed. Like 70-80 people in there. And they have 3 a week. What 210-240, give or take, new drivers a WEEK. The importance of this observation didn't dawn on me at the time, but you think about stuff like that when you drive.
I took a load from Atlanta, to West Memphis, Ar. Get there at 1 pm.

Dude tells me they close at 11:30am, on a darn Friday. I call my dispatcher, who tells me he as to check with planning to see what should be done. I tell him that the dropyard is only 30 minutes away, not far from several truckstops. It take about 6 hours, for MY IDEA, to be approved. By this time, I had already made up my mind on the issue, dropped the trailer, went to the Flying J, ate, took a shower, watched tv, and ran out of hours. Haa!
