Nope...now if I needed a second chance I would call them as I assume most would.

I think you can make it there. If your wife is good with you doing it and understands you will be away from home. Then I say go for it.

Thanks hvacker. I'm glad to finally talk to somebody positive. I talked to a man that has worked for them for 15 years and still at it in their flatbed division which is what I'm gonna do. The more I talked to him the more I understood why you don't read many posisitive reviews. I understand now after talking to this guy and realizing that he loves his job there, that all these bad reviews and all these people saying go the other way and don't work for them that they are a bad company, they ain't nothing but a disgruntle person who spent all that money getting their cdl and thinking they could be the worlds next best truck driver and then finding out they weren't no good and weren't cut out for it. I grew up aroud tractor trailers my entire life. All the men in my family drive them so I know what it takes to succeed as a truck driver. My only concern was hometime, and if they got you home when they said they would. But I've decided to go and try it out myself. To any new truck driver that may be reading this, don't pay attention to the reviews because I will let you in on a little secret. It ain't the company that makes the driver succeed; its the driver that makes his/herself succeed. It don't matter who you go to work for its all about you and how hard you are willing to work.

Right on man, keep us posted, he'll someday I might just say heck with it and take them up on they offer to me as well. Get myself back to simplistic status.

I worked for WE for 7 weeks as a new driver last year. I'm glad I made it out alive! I got a good trainer, but the dispatch manager was definitely not on my side when I got my own truck. After my third NYC load I found out from another WE driver that there is such a thing as NY pay, something I was not getting. After promising me time off to attend my son's law school graduation, guess what? I was delivering a load 3 states away as he marched. I dropped the truck and empty trailer off at the nearest terminal and never looked back. Please do your homework (which I naively didn't do) and if you want to see the baby born, go somewhere else! Run, don't walk, away from Western Express!!!

I definitely will. I start orientation monday. I read all these reviews on here about them and the more I thought about it, the more I just knew something was wrong because if they were this bad they would be out of business because they wouldn't have anybody to drive for them. But I will definitely post often on how my journey goes with western express and let everybody know the truth about the them and if they could possibly be as horrible as everybody on here says. There is just no way. They would have went under by now.

Just remember, the good, the bad, gripes, groans and crying and whining. It this way across the entire industry.

I have worked for more trucking company's than I have toes and fingers.

Yes there are bad companies out there, but the good out weigh them. The main major commonality of issues is the drivers themselves. I drive down the highway and hear them complain about just about anything. I watch the majority of them cower in fear at the recievers at a walmart dc. A spineless bunch out here that won't take accountability for anything.

I only surround myself with true professional drivers in the circles I run. Them I have met on the road by random chance, I. Severe situations of weather, closures and what not. And we always stayed In touch.

I have worked for many so called bad companies, all in all I didn't find any bad company issues, just bad drivers with issues.

Go for it, give it your all. All companies are the same.

With all due respect davidsan. I have done my research. Its pretty funny you don't ever read anything good about. I seen my first child born and I will see my second child born. Again with all do respect you didn't make it but 7 weeks, that's only 3 weeks without a trainer. I've said it once and I will say it again, I come from a truck driving family. A comany can not force a load on you. So you could have simply said no to the load. You should of knew before you started tge first year in this profession is the hardest. It don't matter what company a driver goes with, if you ain't willing to go the extra mile and work your ### off you will never make it. Hope I haven't affended you. What division were you in? Were you a regional driver?
