I wouldn't agree to an escrow......there are too many crooked companies out there and whether or not you're the greatest owner in the world, that looks like a big red flag. Maybe you're an honest guy who treats drivers fairly, maybe you're not;.....sorry, not taking that chance.

Not to mention when it comes to OTR trucking the $ just isn't there anymore, so you're not going to get much of a choice of drivers and the way alot of these outfits are operating are just making it worse & worse for everyone, they want to make our careers a joke and then wonder where all the drivers went to..... Nothing is going to get better on its own sooner or later deregulation will have to be reversed.... No one in their right mind wants to live in a truck and be on the job 24 /7, making less & less $, dealing with new DOT laws, having no life of their own...... Me wouldn't even consider a job OTR, especially for what this industry has become

Yeah ok, you should leave that sort of work to geneticists and anthropologists. Quite frankly, what you wrote there is just based on wild guesses.

Since I -have- to pay for my insurance, .40CPM is too cheap. You may want to consider paying a percentage of the federal gov. health insurance plan. You can decide if you will pay for the Gold, Silver or Bronze policy. You should be able to find an affordable dental and vision policy privately.

I do agree with others who are warning you about your CSA score level. The DOT will put you at the top of the audit list, make sure you are ready for them today. You must bring your drivers in compliance, if they will not do it legally, then you can not afford to keep that driver in your truck. If you have questions, please PM me, I have done safety for many years.

One final thing, you may want to check and see if that escrow account in legal for IL labor laws, I think you will find that it is not legal and needs to be stopped ASAP.

Not anymore Pattyj, due to the chameleon laws companies are no longer allowed to wash, rinse and repeat. Those that are caught doing so, need daylight piped to them.

If i am looking at a company and they tell me that it is going to take 2 weeks to get me paid and on top of that I have to pay a $1000 escrow to be a company driver. I am going to hang up the phone and not think twice. If you hire safe drivers and ones that will take care of the equipment you wouldn't have those problems. But, you say I can take cash advances while I am waiting for the first paycheck on week 3. NOPE the reason is cash advances don't keep the bills paid at home. Now I am in the hole with the company I just started working for. It's not a win win. AS far as CSA scores the inspections are of the drivers not so much the equipment. Tells me your drivers can't run log books. Maybe you should look into the E-logs or something close to it. The saying in the real world YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.. You pay cheap mileage you get that driver that don't give a crap about your company or equipment. Seems like you are trying to turn things around just need to do it little bit sooner than later. or you will be like the one O/O i drove years ago. When i pulled up on scale i knew i was getting inspected they told me THEY was after his numbers. Guess what they got em to.

I would not even consider working for a company I have to "float" for 2 weeks or "deposit" an escrow, you sir got exactly what you paid for, and in turn are taking advantage of the suckers that need a job. Please do not take it personally companies like yours are all the same , you can put them in a bag and shake them out 1 at a time and they all smell the same. In answer to your question... YES you are a bad company.

As well as Average Joe and btemefordboy...

Seriously? Most companies out there hold back 2 weeks. The last 3 I've worked for held 2 weeks and the majority of them in my career has.

As for your bills... if you're like the vast majority of us, living payday to payday... then it'll all work out. I think most of y'all are forgetting that you will get at least one, probably 2 more, paychecks from the previous company you were with before you get the 1st one from the new company. So.... let's say you have a company now who pays weekly but held 2 weeks to begin with, then you will get 2 more paychecks and then the 1st paycheck from the new company the next week. If however, you are with a company who pays weekly, and only held 1 week, then you'll have a week to suck up. That's hard sometimes, but it usually all works out in the wash... at least that's my experience.

But... I wouldn't make a "never" statement like y'all did... 'cause you may not want to miss out on a very good company because of a 2 week hold back (not saying Beyond T is a good or bad company). Ya know? Just my opinion. :yes2557:

Doesn't change a thing ,it's STILL a bad company. Don't pretend you know how the "vast majority" of us handle our finances ,just because you and y'all can't handle money don't presume everybody is like you.
