A quickie about the situation, I completed training with swift back in 10/2014 I have no complaints about the school or the training with swift. I liked the 6 week training and thought this company will keep me busy as a rookie in this industry. But as soon as I finished training, I took my 4 days off and then waited for them to assign me a tractor which didn't happen. After approximately 3 weeks of driving back and forth to the terminal(a waste of money, gas and I had no side job), I had to look for another job just so I can pay rent and bills. So finally when they got a truck for me, I didn't answer their calls nor did I show up. I was never assigned a truck so I know they can't put "abandonment of equipment" or anything to do with abandonment on my Dac, BUT they might and probably will put a "no call no show" on it. And i know every little things hurts your record, so if they do put that. Is there a way for me to get it off my report? Or will any other big companies say No to me if I apply with them? After I received the letter from swift saying I was getting terminated for not showing up, I called and they told me I am welcome to work for them again. Which I probably am gonna go back to them just to get a 1+ year experience , that's if Gordon doesn't accept me because of the bad things they probably put on my dac. I just requested my dac report yesterday so I gotta wait 15 days to get and see what they really put on it. I just hope Gordon does assign a truck to me and puts me on the road quick, not like swift. Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to get away for 4-5 weeks at a time from my family, but the only reason why I left swift was because they were wasting my time( I wasn't getting paid or anything). I got things to pay too.

I wouldn't have worked for them either after waiting and waiting for a call. But as trucking companies see it,you're suppose to be ready no matter what and put everything else on hold.Swift will probably put something on your DAC but don't plan on it being there when you get your dac in the mail.It can take months before its on there.

So if I don't see it there when I get it by mail, will it be better to proceed and get a job with Any other big company before it actually shows on my record? Or will they call swift and swift will tell them Via telephone why I left? I don't mind working for Werner, or any big company, everyone starts at the bottom anyways. Well maybe CRST not, I can't trust another rookie with my life.

I would proceed and not even put it on the app.Tell them you quit and why.Because you did quit before Swift terminated you.

    chorizo992 Thanks this.

Thank you for the help, I just wanted to make sure this won't be a big problem for me. Because I know that any orientation I attend , shows up on my dac record. I don't want 3 or 4+ orientation on my record and no Job yet. Ima do my research real good before i go to a orientation, make sure they always have trucks available, I don't want to be employed but without a tractor again.

    Lonesome and pattyj Thank this.

That was very wrong of Swift to not have a trk ready for you then fire you because you gave up on waiting and needed to find something quick.Sad but true Swift like every other company could care less if the driver is broke or not because Swift staff isn't hurting for money.I don't know if this would be a big problem but that's what I would do.

Yes it was wrong but I'm actually glad that they trained me .Maybe the best choice will be going back to them , that way in the future 1 or 2 years later when I apply for a better job, that company will see that Swift took me back even after putting a bad note on my report. They'll see that swift likes to play games and hopefully don't mind the report they did. I'll give swift a call Monday and see what they say about taking me back. Thank you for the help

Are you under contract with Swift?

Yes but that contract is only to assure that I will pay them back for the school. Which I still am giving the payments monthly but still got a long way to finish paying.
