I quit and drove their truck back to them. They got upset because I quit and they took my check because I brought the trailer back empty. They won't even give me my pay stub. I'm pissed. I tried to do the right thing g and take the truck back to them.

well there's your problem right there. you didn't do it right.

you're supposed to drive the truck back to them and THEN quit.

think that's the first bad thing I've seen said about them almost all of the things I've seen have been fairly positive.

that is the rest of the story. Working with Magnum was ok. Yeah I can complain about dispatch but every driver can. I felt like sharing what happened to me. I needed to leave because my daughter is very sick and the doctors can't find the problem and me being OTR just was no longer a good thing for me. I explained that to them thinking they'd understand and appreciate me driving 6.5 hours to return their truck but they thanked me by taking my money unlawfully. Everything that glitters ain't gold. Like I stated above I was trying to do the right thing the right way unlike so many others who make them drive to recover their truck. Not asking anybody to take my word for it. If you got time left in your career and are looking to go work for them I'm not saying don't do it I'm just sharing my own personal experience recently. The equipment is better than most and the pay ain't bad but the treatment you'll receive from the dispatch will make you wanna leave. You won't find out the truth about any of these companies until you work for them because nobody ever believes a former employee.

Magnum is suppose to be one of the better companies. So why did you take trailer back empty?Did you refuse a load?Did you take it upon yourself to take the trailer back without asking your dispatcher first? What are we missing here, there's more to this story then what you're telling us.

There's more to the story, he probably didn't give a notice, he says I brought the trailer back empty, that tell me he was dispatched on a load, didn't pick the load up, dead headed back to the yard from God knows where. He is a rookie who probably realized the trucking life wasn't for him, but went about it all wrong. Sayonara!

I drive for Magnum, I have been out over 14 years, I put them in my top 3. You can take my word, or some driver who just started his career. This new breed of driver is amazing, this isn't a 9 to 5 job, we work crazy hours, were away from the ones we love for weeks at a time, pulling reefer your going to have some crazy delivery times. I heard a fairly new driver say, well I don't drive at night, and I won't go here and I won't get there, really? If I owned the company I would say grab your gear and get out of my truck, but so many companies are hurting for drivers, so they appease the drivers.
