I would like to report Forrsmith Logistics Services, LLC, a trucking company just outside Philadelphia, PA. This company was shady from the get-go, and I should have listened to my intuition, and stayed away, but the promise of being able to make $1,200+ a week, and be able to lease my own truck caused me to give them a try.

Shawn Waters, who handles the driver recruiting, had me pay for my own ticket to travel to orientation, and then myself, and the other drivers had to sleep in a truck in the parking lot, instead of getting us a hotel room for the 3 day orientation.

The orientation paperwork handled by Shawn during orientation was forwarded to West Motor Freight, and we had to await approval from West before we could begin. [continued below]....

..... To get paid, we were told to scan shipping paperwork to our phone, and email them to Scott Tullie, the dispatcher, by 8am Monday mornings, and we would receive our pay via direct deposit on Fridays. I provided a voided blank check to Shawn, which I assumed he forwarded to West to set up. In addition, we were all given self addressed envelopes that we were told to put all our paperwork in, including driver logs, & receipts, and send them in. The envelopes were addressed to West Motor Freight in Boyertown, PA.I was set up as a contract 1099 company driver, driving what I assumed was a Forrsmith company truck, and I was suppossed to be paid 25% of all loads I delivered. I drove for Forrsmith for 1 week, & in that time, I delivered 4 loads. My 25% added up to $975 based on the amount I was told that the 4 loads paid. During the week, I found out the other 3 drivers I had started with, had already all left Forrsmith due to various issues. In addition, I discovered that on load that I delivered, that I was told I would be paid 25% of $1,345, actually paid $1,500.

I decided to finish the week, & then leave as peacefully as possible, because 2 of the other drivers that had already left, told me that Forrsmith was telling them that they weren't going to be paid.

I stayed in contact with Shawn the following week, and he assured me that I would receive my pay. Towards the end of the week, Shawn told me that I couldn't get paid, because West had not received my paperwork in time. I contacted Shelley in payroll at West the following week, and she confirmed that she had finally received the paperwork, and a check would be cut for me on Thursday.

The following Monday, when I still had not received a check, I called Shelley, and she told me that they had sent a check to the owner of the truck, which I was shocked to learn that the truck belonged to somone named Terrence Murphy. Shelley told me that Terrence needed to pay me.

I contacted Shawn, and he told me thet Terrence couldn't pay me, because he never received the toll receipts. I had received 2 Comdata cash advances totalling $400 to pay for the tolls, and had submitted toll receipts totaling aproximately $360 in all the paperwork I had submitted. I contacted Shelley, to find out what happened to the receipts, and she rudely told me that she didn't know where they were, since I shouldn't have sent them to West, I should have sent them to the owner of the truck.

I still have not received any compensation from Forrsmith.

A question: Were you a lease operator or a company driver?

Company Driver, I was told I was driving a Forrsmith owed truck, but when I talked to Shelley in West Motor Freight's payroll department, she informed me that the truck was owned by someone else, so in essence, I was driving for an owner operator.

The situation described above is abhorable, however it occurred under the supervision of a previous hire that is no longer with the company. Upon discovery of the treatment of this driver, I contacted this driver, paid him for his services, and made him whole for all monies put out and lost.

Forrsmith Logistics is an organization of integrity. We believe in treating our employees and drivers with dignity and respect. While this event was extremely unfortunate, it does not reflect the professional work environment that we work hard to provide and maintain for our employees.

Again, I would like to reiterate that the employee who supervised these circumstances was let go from the company upon discovery of this situation and the driver who made the above complaint has since been compensated for his inconveniences.

Well an quick online search shows a few drivers saying good things about the company. The safer score is good.
However, in August of 2020 the owner had to go to criminal court to answer to owing the PA turnpike $27,000. It says the amount was accumulated over 8 years.

4mer trucker and JoeyJunk Thank this.
