I went to Heiskell,Tn. in November of 2005 after being offered a job at usf/glen moore. During my initial 3 day orientation I was refused a job because the company doctor who gave me my physical said that I had high blood sugar or pre-diabetes. I came home to Ky. After getting tested by my home doctor, it was determined that I did not have high blood sugar. In December of 2005, I returned again to Heiskell, Tn to pick up my truck. On December 22, 2005, I began my employment with usf/glen moore. I was initially hired in to work out of Bolingbrook, Il. on the RR Donnelley dedicated account. While running this acct. I was paid .35 per mile. In November or thereabout, usf/glen moore lost this dedicated acct. to another carrier. I was then placed in the southeast region. While I was on this acct. I retained my pay at .35 per mile.

At this time I complained to management, who then reccomended that I drive out of Murfreesboro,Tn. on the International Paper acct. I agreed to do so. I was then dropped in pay to .33 per mile. Sometime in late December or thereabout I started on the International Paper dedicated acct. I worked on this acct. until mid July when usf/glen moore lost this dedicated acct. to another carrier. Before I started on this acct. in December,2006 I was given a new physical by the company doctor. This time the Dr. disqualified me from driving because I had been in an auto accident on 10/03/1985 and had been unconsious for more than 24 hours. I got this exclusion overwritten by the FMCSA. I was informed that this rule was often overlooked by most doctors as long as there was no history of seizures. I have never had a seizure of any kind. I worked on the International Paper acct. with no problems of any kind. At this time I was told that there would be a $3,000.00 bonus if I signed up to stay with the company thru December 31,2007. I was also promised a dedicated lane from Tn. or Ky. to Chicago and back.

I agreed to do this. They had told me that I would be given a raise up to .34 per mile. I worked for him for 2 weeks with no raise. I complained repeatedly about this to him and was told to like it or lump it. After this I was then assigned to the Atlantic coast division. My new dispatcher and I did not get along from day 1. I tried to explain to him that I was supposed to be running a dedicated lane from Ky. or Tn. to Chicago. I was told that he would look into that. At this point I called YRC to complain that I felt I was being set up for termination by the company. Almost on a daily basis I was coaxed into a disagreement by my dispatcher over miles run vs. miles paid, xtra duties that I was not paid for, detention time, and typical smart alec remarks. I proceded to complain to the HR department, The Ethics line that YRC employees are given, and YRC reps in Kansas. I repeatedly asked to be transferred to the southeast regional fleet based out of Heiskell, Tn. I even called the dispatcher who is the dispatcher of this fleet as well as management. I was told that as long as my dispatcher agreed to this that there was an opening in this fleet that I could move to. I asked each and everyone of these people to do this. I was denied.

By this time I felt severely traumatized, harrassed, and manipulated. I was told repeatedly that if I did not like my job that I should look for work elsewhere. I informed them that I felt obliged to continue my employment and that I should not be made to feel this way. Finally on or about the week of 9/1/07 I was summoned to Carlisle,Pa. to be verbally reprimanded. I signed the form acknowledging this reprimand, I then asked once again to be transferred, and was denied, and suggested that if I was miserable that I should look for employment elsewhere. On or about this time I again called the ethics line and filed a complaint against the company and YRC for allowing me to be treated this way by usf/glen moore management. On 9/11/07, I was summoned to Carlisle,Pa. for a PM to be done to my truck. At this time usf/glen moore provided me with a motel room. On 9/12/07 at 11 am edt, I went back to the terminal, I then left the terminal as I was told that my truck was not finished yet. I was going to walk to a local restaurant and have lunch.

During my walk I was telephoned on my cell by my dispatcher to see if I was ready for a dispatch, I told him that I was ready but my truck was not. Within 5 minutes he called me back, and informed me that the HR Dept. needed to see me. I then walked back to the terminal. I was then escorted by my dispatcher to a meeting room, upon entering I was greeted by the HR rep, and a supposed security guard employed by YRC. I cordially greeted them. I was then informed that I was being terminated. I asked why, and was told that at this time it was best that we parted ways. I said ok. I then asked how I was to get home, I was informed that I would be provided a comcheck to accomodate my transportation needs. I was also told that I would be driven to the airport in Harrisburg,Pa. to get my rental vehicle for my trip home. I asked once again why I was being terminated and if I could retain my job. I was again denied. I then asked why I had not been given the dedicated route that I was promised, or never transferred as I had requested. I was told by the HR director that he would look into this and get me an answer.

I then left the room, communicating with several co-workers, while smoking a cigarette. I then was approached by the YRC security guard that I had to get my truck cleaned out and that usf/glen moore would give me a ride to the Harrisburg,Pa. airport. I started cleaning all of my personal items from my truck. Everytime that I exited my truck I was badgered by the YRC security guard to hurry up. He then proceded to use abusive language towards me and informed me that I had 15 minutes to get finished. I informed him that it took me over 4 hours to get all of my personal belongings into this vehicle. After a few more times of being badgered, I called 911 to request a police officer or sheriff to respond to usf/glen moores address to keep this security guard from constant provocation and verbal attacks, while I gathered my personal belongings. A few minutes later the Carlisle,Pa. police dept. responded, the original officer on the scene then corresponded with the YRC security guard. Then, at least 3 more officers responded.

I was in the process of gathering my tools when 1 of the police officers slammed me down backwards onto a table in the shop area. This officer then told me I was to leave the premises. I asked him if I could finish getting my personal items from my truck. He said no. I was then physicall assaulted and pushed from the shop area to the front of the building. All the while being verbally provoked and physically pushed forward. The usf/glen moore van then moved from the rear of the building to retrieve me from this threatening situation. I then asked if I could at least have 1 of the officers get me my cigarettes. 1 of the officers went to retrieve my cigarettes when the initial officer that assaulted me told him that he could not get me my cigarettes. I was then told that I had 5 seconds to get into the usf/glen moore truck and leave the pemises. I did so in fear of my life as these officers seemed intent on causing me physical harm. They then drove me to the airport.

We were informed at the airport by every rental car agency that there were no vehicles available for rent. They then took me to a gas station to buy some cigarettes. The driver then called someone at usf/glen moore to explain the situation. I overheard someone at usf/glen moore say to drop my f----n a-- at the greyhound station. In the meantime I had telephoned my wife and had asked her to try and find me a rental car. She called back in a few minutes and said that Avis at the Harrisburg,Pa. airport had a car available. He then took me to Avis to get my car. He helped me unload the few personal items that I was able to retrieve from my truck and put them into my rented vehicle. He then told me that if management at usf/glen moore had finished cleaning out my truck that he would meet me at a local gas station and deliver these items to me. I called him about 30 minutes later, only to be informed that he was not allowed to bring my personal items to me and that the company said that they would mail them. I then proceded to drive home to Ky.

I feel that usf/glen moore and YRC have provoked, prodded, harassed, and tried to force me to resign my position at usf'glen moore. I feel that when I refused to resign my position that they fired me either in retaliation for my complaints, or in order to avoid paying me my promised bonus, and earned 2 weeks vacation. I also have a workmans comp claim that I have repeatedly tried to inform the company that is not totally healed and still requires medical attention, to no avail.

I, being a United States citizen feel that my rights have been violated by usf/glen moore and YRC, for their manipulation and coercieve, unethical ways. I always did what I was asked to do, even if it was in violation of FMCSA rules, in order to keep my job. I worked for 3 dispatchers at this company and never had any complaints. Of the 2 dispatchers that I have had other than on the dedicated routes, 1 has been fired and the other was used to fire me. My complaint is that I was severely traumatized by this man trying to get me to resign and when I refused to do so, I was terminated for no cause of my own.

If I remember correctly, USF Glen Moore are not a teamster outfit, they used to be Glen Moore transport, when USF bought them out.

And Shaggy, that is one hell of a story. It is a shame whta no just the company did to you, but what the Carlisle police did as well. Good luck moving on, and I hope you are able to get some justice.

Thanks for all of the support. Due to the BS laws in our country and our freedoms disappearing, there is nothing I can do without hiring a private attorney to try to get my stuff back. I will move on and I will be trucking again soon, once its in your blood...

Wow! does not surprise me though. No way it's a union deal, if my stewarts cought wind of anything even close to that happening the gates would close. But up here my local is still real old school strong, and I am actually looking to change jobs and go OTR that story is so f)(*%^$ scary I might rethink my plan.. Oh Yeah anyone have any dealings with Abilene, out of all the carriers that have contacted me they were the only ones to be actually be honest especially about home time.. Everyone els says oh yeah every weekend no doubt. Man, I swear they think they are talking to a rookie I know how it is, I have been in the industrie for almost 20 years 16 of which I was running and driving my own families company. Oh well and real sorry about your deal that is bad.. and You should make an effort to blackball them on every board and site You can..
