And the fog

Running into a fog bank suddenly may get you off the hook if you kiss someone's rear doors.

Yeah I drive a Swift truck
And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

You obviously haven't been to western Wyoming lately, it's not very cheap to live. Trailer park or not, Oil and Gas companies have whole hotels and motels rented for the next year.

man, you all are good at helping me scratch carriers off my list. much appreciated ofc.

usxpress was recommended to me by an friend thats been trucking for 40+ years. ofc this is an independent contractor, and dont really work for any carrier, but himself.

I look at the bad reports on these company's, like swift, jbh, werner, the big orange people eaters... :P, alot of it is driver issue's, such as accident reports, and bad driving. obviously the biggest 5 carriers are going to be on the top 5 for accident's. lol the other day i seen an werner trailer driven over an TA sign in NM, while i sat in line for the fuel lane's for 20 minutes while some O/O flatbed driver with an tank opened his door after fueling, got inside and closed his door, then i seen him look at my truck in his mirror as he put his seat belt on, then he decided to get out and do an full pretrip on his truck. I dont doubt for a minute that he did it cause he seen an swift truck parked behind him. The good drivers in these big company's get harrased because of the crappy drivers they hire. swift has some 18k trucks on the road, and many of them dont need to be on the road, many think they going to do the supertrucker thing and run 18hr's a day, with little or now sleep, they think there going to get away with falsifying there log books, and because of them, the good drivers get harrassed by other drivers. btw, swift is extremely good with logs, they will catch you if you try to run fake logs. also there very strict on your average miles/day. there trucks are set at 65mph and if you avg more then 60/day expect to get writen up for it.

with that said, I dont much care for swift, pay is bad, benifits are subpar. and it seems us express is much the same way, and the same for the other big boy's.

Has nothing to do with bad mouthing anything. The facts are facts. It is almost 20% cheaper to live in Wyoming as a whole compared to lets say were I live in western Wa, which means it would take almost $7k to $8k less to maintain the same standard of living in Wyoming as it would were I live.

My god all I want to do is work, I want to work hard, I know no matter where I go it will suck for a while, is there anywhere at all I can get a job, and be treated good, and make a decent living, I am actually scared to make the wrong move and end up being tortured by some company or have my crystal clear DAC (has been that way for 15 years) get spraypainted with B.S... Ok so who is a good company, does anyone here like where they work? or should I just start applying for Manager positions at Jiffy Lube...
Yep FedEx Ground Love it here.

Hey I'm not offended that you are throwing caution to the wind, even after someone such as myself who worked for them driving 48, Regional, Dedicated (Home depot) and even local (Kent Wa yard) for 6 1/2 years told you what you can expect.

Hopefully it won't take you as long as it took me to find out that working so hard, for so little, is not necessary.

But maybe you will find your niche or actually like running short haul rail loads and doing swaps with teams so they won't get chained to a dock. But don't say you where not warned.
