Thumbs down Friends don't let friends work for Werner

Just wanted to put up quick post regarding Werner. My friend I went to trucking school with started with Werner this past Sunday. He let the recruiters convince him that the company has changed and is a better place to work now. BAH!

Needless-to-say he's on his way home after only 5 days with them. His trainer was a O/O that slept while he drove, gave him NO training at all and wouldn't even allow him to wear shoes in his truck! Told him to not grind gears (c'mon he just got out of school, he's gonna grind a bit in the beginning) etc...then after three days on the road the trainer told him they were heading to TN because he was going on vacation for two weeks! Are you kidding me? Werner put this poor guy with a trainer that they knew was going on vacation for two weeks! They offered my friend a hotel and $40/day but he had a family emergency and needed to get home...their response? Stay with Werner and we'll find you a way home....he told them not a chance, he was done with them.

I don't blame him, he was supposed to be training and was not getting any of anykind. I tried to warn him about Werner and told him about this website and all that has been said. He chose to believe the recruiters and even said in orientation all they do is "blow smoke". They even told him he would be taining in the 11 western states....he got off before getting to MA...bleh!

So don't believe anyone that tells you Werner is all of the sudden a great place to work, it's a scam and they could care less about their people, there is no training, just people wanting more money so they sleep while you drive. What a joke!

Friends should not let friends work for Werner!

Thanks.

Thanks for yet another warning flare fired to warn us off of Werner. I wonder how this company can suck so much when a related company not 100 miles west of Omaha is one of the best in the business. That company will remain one of the best as long as its founder, a guy named Acklie, stays alive. When ol' man Acklie passes on, all bets are off regarding his company--Crete. I predict they'll go down the tubes, but hopefully I'm wrong. Lots of guys believe they're already heading down, but that's fine. They've a ways to fall before they're on the same level as the Swifts, Englands, and JobHunts of the world.

But I do know Werner blows. I've known that for years and years.

Yeah I drive a Swift truck
And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

Wow,sounds a little like some of what I went thru with a different company & trainer just last month,January,2009.
I was with the trainer for a little over two weeks and I'll just say a lot of bs went on,and not good training.

I'mbusy looking for a new company to go with now,and hope I can find something, and a place with better trainers who really do try to train you well and correctly! The trainer they had me with SUCKED!

I wonder if they'd have a problem with me driving nude? I won't work for a company unless I can.

Sorry but Werner is in no way "related" to Crete. The only thing that "relates" them is that they are both located in Nebraska.

Their recruiters are slick. So slick, you know they are lying. When the guy came to my school I wanted to stand outside the room. He asked why I wasn't interested. I told him I was upset my hose was frozen solid with water since I planned on using it to blow smoke up my own #####. But since it IS frozen, I guess I can go inside at let him do it for me.

I assume you are talking about Werner recruiters. What did he/she say that was a tip off? If the person was so slick how did you know they were telling lies? Let us know so we can be aware of what to look for.

The guy tried saying that everyone there makes alot of money, that they put your name on the door of the truck (I never saw a name on a Werner truck), and that they had plenty of trucks available even though I knew people waiting for a truck. He claimed not to know their turnover rate when I asked him directly about it. He squirmed when I showed him in an industry magazine that was in the classroom. All in all, you can tell a Werner recruiter is lying, when their lips move.

Werner recruiters?

Picture Vince from TV Sham-Wow fame... add a few more stabbing/baseless rhetorical questions and a dash of Military charm.... What do you have?

The epitome of a Werner recruiter!
