As long as I see even one company rep with a microphone stuck under his nose whining about a driver shortage while around back that outfit's drivers are being kicked around, I'll "keep on keeping on." Ditto for recruiters. Don't you get sick of seeing recruiters trying to sucker candidates into hiring on while at the same time the outfits are trying to dump their vets? I get sick of it. Sick of being sick of it.

And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

One final word on this issue

If what I read here is true, and there's no reason to believe the claims are NOT true, SwiftQuit is turning drivers out to pasture in big numbers these days. Remember that whiner from the Quit by the name of JerryCo who was coming here pitching a ##### fit? He's made out to look that much more like a total idiot.

Here's a guy who resents people posting negative testimonies about SwiftQuit, as it hurts his weekly and monthly quota, yet the Quit is now (supposedly) laying off hordes of drivers. Sounds like something crooked is up at that oufit, the subject of which is another post that will appear here very, very soon.

If anything, JerryCo needs to thank us. It means many, if not most, of those drivers who passed on that rotten apple of an outfit, thanks to this site, won't have to be laid off now.

Cheers.

Where did you read that tip, Tip?
*sorry -- couldn't resist.

I'm not familiar with JerryCo, but I'm aware of that personality type.

As for being a "total idiot" -- I'm thinkin' he had enough sense to post here at The Report.
Can't be TOTAL
ya reckon.

YeaH, but,.............
I doubt those "layoffs" are the direct result of people's negative testimonies about SwiftQuit.

I'm at a loss here because I don't know what JerryCo was told that he needs to thank y'all for. And I wonder if being laid-off was one of those things?
Who foresaw this Bad Moon Rising?

The way I see it ---------------
and I'll admit, I'm not favorably impressed with Swift -- as a company.
But IMO, not the worst either.

I've heard Company Big truck truck drivers say that the plight of the O/O's isn't THEIR problem, not their fault. And it might NOT be their problem and/or fault. But, are they helping CREATE that problem?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Think "Cheap Freight -- Freighted Cheaply."

The bottom-feeder, so called "training" companies, who, if we follow the Money Trail, most likely have a piece of the action in every aspect of a NewBee's progress -- Even a lack thereof, in some cases, and are making the payments with cheap labor.

Not ALL are like that -- but I think many are to some degree.

More and more, I see folks entering this industry out of desperation, rather than desire, which, IMO, is changing the whole complexion of Big truck truckin'.
And not for the better.

Are there still REAL WannaBees out there?
I'm positive there are.
But, on the BUSINESS side, let's imagine a potential employer has to choose one of two candidates.

Candidate A: Graduated truckin' school at, or durn near, the top of his class.
Even backin' and shiftin'.
A natural?
Betcha!

His attitude is positive.
Knows what he wants.
But maybe not so in the past.
The work history might be a tad spotty.
But he's a great worker.

Candidate B: Is a displaced office worker who qualifies for paid re-training, and the gubmint offers any institution providing that training, a $5,000 "incentive" for doing so.

Solid work history -- selling sub-prime loans, until that tanked and the $100,000+ income dried up.
So far, his credit hasn't followed -- but if he doesn't start bringin' in SOME bacon, his family will have to move to an apartment in town.
And sees Big Truck Truckin' as a QUICK Fix to his financial woes.

Guess who will likely get de job?

YuP!

And,...........................

Three months out of training and here come the red trucks with a Lease/Option plan that'll put the sub-prime rookie back on Easy Street.
Sign here ---------->

And they do.

But, I digress.

Tip!
You're absolutely correct about folks learning here -- if they'll just heed what they read ------- with an open mind.

Again, this was all for grins

Again, my above posts are just for grins. I read something here about the massive layoffs that are supposedly coming to Swifty. This rumour is just a bunch of BS, more than likely. We'd be hearing about it all over if it were true.

Sure, no one could see the present situation we're saddled with, but surely there was a plan for it at companies like SwiftQuit, along with any other possible economic scenario.

I'll end by saying what I've said many times before...if an outfit can't learn to appreciate the help it has and is content with seeing 100-150% turnover or even more, it really needs to go the way of the do-do bird.

AND/or all of the above stated and has a blemish in his recent past, is trying to make himself a better person; gets his CDL after 280hrs of training and can't get into ANY training trucking company because of that aforementioned blemish that no one told him it would screw him! Also would do just about anything for the chance to prove himself!!!

Crazy, ain't it?
They don't have a sign on their office door either. Hard to find 'em.

When I asked about their unmarked trucks, they said to just bring my own sign.
ShuX HowdY!
Whatta deal.
I've got PLENTY of my own signs.

Back-N-Forth
Fly-By-Nite
Bend-Um-Overnite
CorkScrew Express
Here2-day -- Gone2-Maui.
At one time or another, I've been
reamed by them all.
The best of the worst.
