I know the package side isn't the best place to work, with the running and the dumb little rules they have, but this is the first complaint I've seen here about what used to be Overnite Trans.

UPS Freight

I've talked to a few UPS/Overnite drivers and most say Overnite was great and UPS sucks.

That's funny, the UPS Freight guys that I talk to every night are happy.
They say that there were some problems initally, but things are running smoothly now.
These guys are all over 20 year employees at the top of the board though.

I guess in corporate buyouts, some are bitter. As I said in another post about FedEx National (formerly Watkins), drivers I worked with over Christmas hated FedEx Nat'l and loved Watkins...They said they were working part time hauling mail because FedEx Nat'l couldn't keep them busy.

I agree with this poster. UPS Freight drivers come to our yard from California on Fridays - every Friday- all Fridays. It's a DC shipment and that's when we get our DC shipment. Although it's usually the same guy that brings that shipment - who lives in Riverside - I have talked to several other over time that have come in as well. Fans and flatbeds. I have YET to have ANY of them tell me they are nothing but HAPPY with their jobs. That's really all I have to say about it - I ask and they tell me. I ask ALL drivers about their companies. Some don't want to talk - which is fine - but many will spell it all out -happy, mad, indifferent. If I weren't so freakin', unbelievably CONTENT and HAPPY with my current job, I would definitely give them a try!

Ups Freight

NOt all UPS freight facilities operate the same, your talking about guys that have been with their company 20 years but UPS Freight is fairly new any one with 20 years in any company feels secure, guys with less then 5 years are caught in the middle, the facility that my husband was working out of doesn't even have an H.R. person on site to ask a questions it's like being on the phone asking for a kidney.
I can go on for hours about this company.

Nope, not talking about guys that have been with the company 20 years. The 2 main drivers that come to our yard have been there 2 and 4 years. They're both as happy as a bug in a rug. Other drivers that go to our main branch have nothing bad to say about that company, either, but I don't know how long they've been driving with them.
