I know one thing, and that is I am so sick of the way Swift drivers demonstrate rude and unsafe operations on the roads. I have witnessed more Swift drivers exhibiting dangerous practices than any other outfit. It doesn’t surprise me at all to hear that there are so many killed or causing fatalities.

scarry stuff

Well lets see I WAS IN CDL school in rochester ny back in oct had 8 students plus me i finished passed the cdl road test on nov6th i had 2 prehire letters 1 from swift the other from tmc i chose tmc due that its flattbed and i would get to bored driving a dry box.well needless to say a few of my classmates/friends are driving with swift .one loves it hes home everyweekend and the other is scary stuff his trainer has only been driving for 8months and training him he told me he never let him drive and the guy was a slob farting all the time never took a shower etc well the scary stuff is when the trainer was using his log book to drive and not leting him drive his trainer fell asleep at the wheel they stop to refuel and he called his fm and he got off that truck .now because he complained about his trainer doing all of this stuff.he has been sitting home not making any money .to me this so called trainer should be shoot or at least fired he is unsafe and reckless and indangering the wellfare of everyone around him.So I AM GLAD I WAITED TO GO WITH TMC I WILL BE THERE IN DES MONIES ON MONDAY

Who knows how much experience your mentor will have. I'd guess less than a year. Some training that will be. You may know more than your trainer.

I'd be making phone calls and lining up work with some other company. Make sure they care enough about you to train you properly. Anyone who uses inexperienced people as trainers doesn't care enough about you to deserve your services or loyalty. You are getting into trucking in hopes of making it a career. At SwiftQuit, you'll be viewed as a disposible resource. If you have an accident on the highway after your "training", they will throw you in the garbage, brother.
I have contacted other companies hoping to be out on the road soon. CRST has shown a lot of interest in me and is willing to take me as a student driver. they also stated that they run as teams and if I would be willing to be a team driver. I think as being new on the road this would be the best thing for me. I am trying to get more info on CRST before I make my finale decision
