Salute to bad companies everywhere

Did your dispatcher forget it's Christmas for you, too? Well, here's a little jingle by the up and coming band "Truck Aid" to salute the average ignorant dispatcher. Hope ya like it.

(Paul Old)
It's Christmas time

There's a need to be pissed off

At Christmas time

We're nice guys but where does that get us?

(Boyd Gorge)
And in a world where CDL holders are plenty

Actual drivers won't be feelin' much joy

At truckstops around the world at christmas time

You have to say a prayer

At some of the worst ones

At Christmas time

(Dick Simon Le Bon Bon)
Its hard to get home and it's no fun

To have a truckstop lot outside your window

On Christmas day, oh dear

Where the only water flowing

Is the familiar urinating sound

(Bonoed)
And for your dispatcher whom you've treated dear

Well it's yet another Christmas stuck in a truckstop for you!!

(Chorus)
And there won't be much snow down on the truckstop lots this Christmas time

The greatest gift a driver there will get is to be able to sleep in

Where the piss-stained asphalt covers ever'thang that grows

And the garr-beeje flies around when the wind blows

Does your dispatcher know its christmas time for YOU too at all?

Here's to your dispatcher at home openin' all the presents that he got

Here's to YOU eatin' Christmas dinner in a truckstop lot

Does your dispatcher know its Christmas time for YOU too at all?

Truck drivers of the world

Get them home at christmas time

Truck drivers of the world

Get them home at christmas time

To fade..........

It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

On the first day of Christmas the Trucking Company gave to me.... another load for far away .
On the second day of Christmas the Trucking Company gave to me..
the second load for far away and the first was finally unloaded and there to stay.
On the third day of Christmas the Trucking Company gave to me the third load to ride w/ 1/2 the second that the shipping screwed up you see, and the first load is almost all gone .
On the fourth day of Christmas the Trucking Company gave to me a fourth load and I am still waiting, think I will go back and get some food from the first load ...........someone's Grandma's Roast!
On the fifth of day of Christmas an Angel of Reality came me ,still waiting for the fourth load ,the third is gone already by a O/O's truck, same company , imagine that..............
The Angel gave me a standstill moment and took me for a spin.

We were back at the Trucking Company and in the main office the Boss was on the phone , crying and tearing papers for he was not alone.................Greed and temptation was weighing on his of her shoulders.................his hands were trembling on the calendar it said "March 3rd,2008" and the Company computer had LOGGED entries from out of hell and locked the main doors and an ominous vapor came seeping from down, BELOW.

I got to thinking about that sixth load and my angel assured me that by the time we get there, it will be ready to go....................

The Earth began to shake and the floor began to part and the Trucking Companies Boss's Ghost of Christmas Past came calling.

To make a long story short........................

The Boss had a "Revalation", and had thoughts back to when he or she was a little child and the first person to ever slam them down w/ harsh words , and untrusting eyes was someone they looked up to.
At that moment ...............my Angel placed his/her hand on the Boss's shoulder and a calmness fell over the room and feelings of Self-Respect and Apprecitiation for what the Trucking Company CAN do for those who operate the Trucks on the Road, came thru his hands and he reached over and unplugged the COMPUTER.........
He grabbed his pen and pad and dialed on the phone..........Dispatcher ..................Dispatcher................and then the Boss replied:
"Merry Christmas my steadfast employee and friend ,let's you and I , call and cancel those last loads , numbers six thru ten. It's Christmas time and time to give. Give our Drivers 8 days off and a paid vacation and bonus's for them."

Whooooooooooooa , I awoke to a clatter on my semi cabs roof , what was the matter? ...............oooooops, Realities back, with a clatter .................................!

ps:I was sitting down at the table , a meal in front of me, and my gut started to turn and I felt miserable. I miss my friend out there on the road. He is not here to sit at our table and enjoy a meal prepared at Christmas time .............!

All I have to say is...

Lil, all I have to say is this:

You are the dude!

That's good stuff! I have a whole collection of little "remakes" I came up with while holding a steering wheel and being bored for hours at a time. I figured if I had to be force-fed a song from the radio 500 times a day, that gave me the creative license to come up with better versions.

By Jerry Greed
Truckstop bound and down
Unloaded and now just sittin' around
Gotta do what my recruiter swore up and down
would never be done
I've got nowhere to go
And a long time to sit there
I'm truckstop bound
Now watch me go and sit

I don't think he is wise enough or was around when the word "Dude" was used a lot, back in the day of beads and hippies and smoke and rocknrollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.
