Kevin Knight is the parasite, feeding off the drivers and stealing every penny he can from them to bolster his company's $16 million profit margin. Short the drivers local pay, detention pay, shop pay, layover pay, and of course shorting each and every trip by 30-50 miles average. Let the driver sit all day waiting for a load then try to force him to drive all night. Take an over-gross load because there are no scales between p/u and del. Falsify his logs so he can run illegally. I worked for Knight for 3 years, including training drivers for Squire, and I finally came to my senses last week. I'm finished with Knight, have filed my complaints with the FMCSA and USDOT and am conferring with my lawyer on suing them for my unpaid wages and other monetary damages. I wouldn't drive for this POS company again if they were the last remaining trucking company on the planet. I'd rather work at McDonald's.

I was an owner op for them in 2008, I had my own truck and did not go thru their leasing program with their equipment, I had to park my truck after a month because I was making negative paychecks, sitting for days at a time while seeing company trucks blow by me left and right and my dispatcher in Vegas would just tell me there werent any loads. The advice I can give about Knight is just be a company driver for them, run the long miles as much as possible since we all know running regional you will have to work harder to get miles while bumping more docks than running cross country. The company itself wasnt bad to me as far as treament but as a independent owner/op with my own truck I crashed and burned quickly. The company drivers I got to run with seemed pretty happy with what they were getting, and getting home often.

I was at a t/s in Sumner WA and I actually overheard a dpr calling a knight driver from the Las Vegas term ( at least thats what it said on the side of his truck) a bunch of derogatory expletives, and wished he would transfer to another term.
Seems his truck kept shutting down (engine protection) but the dpr wanted him to go del his load and then get it fixed in OR. The driver called safety in PHX and they told him to stay put and I guess the dpr was pissed because he had to find someone to cover the load. -
That driver did the right thing in calling safety in Phoenix . That dispatcher needs to find another job.
