Schneider lied to me There is this truck driving company called Schneider, located in Green bay wisconsin.I fell for what they called"COMPANY SPONSORED TRUCK DRIVING TRAINING"whereby they promise to train you to become a truck driver in 3weeks time then they will hire you.I quit my jobs and drove all the way to their headquarters in Green bay.Their course runs for 3 weeks,I was in class for 4 days but they told me that they didnt think i could be ready to drive for them even after those 3weeks,they expect you to learn the shifting in one day and drive on the streets the same day.Personal this was my first time trying to drive a 53 FOOT RIG not to mention i have never driven a stick shift in my life so they told me that i had to leave.I came back home. Then they started sending me bills asking me to pay for the 4 days i was there.I called them to explain but they were very rude. The issue is they make you sign this contract that says that they will train you to get a class A licence then you will work for them, they did not train me and didnt give me a CDL and didnt hire me and before i left i asked the supervisor that i would like to cancel the contract because it has a condition whereby you could cancel within 72 hours but he assured me that the contract only applies after they train you and give you a cdl and a job.Now they have this collection agency calling me telling me that i have to pay for the 4 days that i was there, plus interest and other fees. What started as a $1000 dollars so called "DEBT" from schneider has now become $3000 dollars.I would greatly appreciate if i could get advice on how to fix this scenario and also warn other people not to fall for this lies from this trucking companies

I would get a lwayer for sure.Do you have a copy of the contract.I would atleast take a copy of that to a lwayer if you do.I couldnt imagine them having"we reserves the right to kick you out any time or for whatever reson we feel like" in there. You were s student. For them to say after 4 days that you arent a pro is rediculous. They have probably been doin this a long time and still think they can get away with it.You can fight it.Sounds like somthing they do to every class they have.Atleast one person in every class gets in this situation. They must be desperate for some money. Is there anything that says you have to be good enough to go out on your own after 4 days in their contract?Sue the crap out of those idiots.I almost thought about goin with them. Then they said i would need to go through their school cause i am still a newb...Forget that lol..Sue them dude..

personally Well I cant say much for schneider. But being asked to shift and drive in the first day isnt that uncommon. I went to a very good private trucking school. and I was asked to do that. Within 2 hours of watching another student drive I had to be able to shift and manuever on and off the freeway. it was a little scary but i got used to it. Id suggest looking into a local school or community college. although it will cost 3000-3500 without grants. but if you want to drive truck itll be worth it. best of luck. keep your head up and your goals in line

I find this a little strange.. Sni usually goes beyond the norm to keep people in their training coarse long as all their background information checks out.. When I was there they had several people who never drove a clutch before (or truck) and they worked with them over and over to teach them. Nobody went home unless the individual choose to go home.. (unless their background that was given was false) Perhaps things have changed but it sure wasn't like that when i went threw Sni training... Far as sending you out on the road, well I know they only bob tailed for the first day out.. Heck back when I trained to get my pilot certificate on my very first day I went out on the taxi lanes and taxed around a little, went out onto the runway and did a few throttle ups and ended up taking off on the FIRST DAY.. On top of that I even had to land the dang thing on the FIRST day.. So, if your planning on doing it well don't be surprised they throw you right into it... That's the best way to learn anything if you ask me... Just do it......

Seems to me when I went thorugh Schneiders training that they prorated the training fee for those that got booted before then end of the program and it capped at a certain amount. I didn't have to sign a contract with them so I can't be too sure but you may look into that. Tell them you are willing to pay a prorated rate for 4 days of training but not the whole amount, maybe they will work with you. BUT if you are just mad and rude with them they will probably not even talk to you and want all the money. So be nice, as hard as it may be.

Hmm--i dont know that much about schneider but it seems a bit odd they would send you home after 4 days. I never seen no one do that unless something came up on their license. Personally, i dont know much about "company sponsored schools". I went out and got my own from an independent school. Good luck to ya!

You nailed it, Tip, and IT SUCKS to have to swallow your pride and give in and get it gone. The alternative, fighting it because you KNOW you're right BUT having huge legal fees to pay, is just not feasible to most people. I've had to do it more than once in my lifetime and I'm sure I'll have to do it again. The big corporations/companies can always afford more than you can AND THEY KNOW IT and, therefore, they win. Such is life.
