Yes I am leased to Dart off and on from 1994 today. no one needs to feel sorry for me.
Trucking is a business not a life style, I have done well at Dart as i have any place i have worked.
You payed me the highest complement by useing the phrase"likes of you".
You don't know me or other people like me.
We don't blame other for our problems.
We stand fast trying to hold back the fall of civilization.
We never look to shift blame.
We make our chances.
If you think Dart is doing something illegal turn them in or find a lawyer to make a class action.
Have you talked with a lawyer?
Try the ooida web site. If you are in the right they will run with it. if not they will tell you why.

I know this a really old thread but I would like to add my .02 cents about dart and Highway Sales. Back in 2004 when I signed on with dart (The old man was still running it then) and bought my truck through HS I didnt do to bad untill the kids took over and I was lucky and got a good truck. I drove it for untill mid 2006 when the motor went on it and I was 3 payments from owning it. Well, HS took the liberty of selling the truck for me and got nothing close to what I could have got but it was something and I still owed em a little bit after that. Whatever. So 2 months later I finally decide to get another truck from a private party, pay off what I owe to dart and HS from 2 months prior and goto work for about 3 months then couldnt do it anymore as I was going broke driving for them so I left on what I thought was good terms and didnt own them a dime. So I thought...

Now, 3 years later, I call to see if I could go back and this is what I get, You still owe Highway Sales $4,100.00 for the last 3 payments you never paid and now I have some log issues from sometime in June of 06. WTF! Seems they somehow forgot to put it in there file I paid the debt off. What also makes me wonder is why nothing ever showed on my credit report or not once got a phone call or letter saying I owe them money. Hmmm... You would thing they would certainly want there $4k. You would think anyways. I know I would if it was me.

Only reason I want to go back is to keep my truck moving. My contract got canceled where I was until Jan 2010 then I can go back. Wonderful economy at work there.

But yes, as long as I drove for dart, my truck or a lease truck, they will get ya any way they can. Screw them... I about lost everything driving for them.

My big problem is the age of my truck. It being a 2000 no one want a truck that old. 2004 and newer is the norm right now. To bad too cause my truck is a really good truck.

Keep your older truck -most of the 2007s and greater are crap anyway (engines run hotter, less mpg on ulsd etc). You have a great truck = it's paid off and still running. If a company won't accept a great driver in an older truck = run away.

We turned in our truck after the 2nd engine rebuild (no lie) I drove from Wisconsin to Indiana to pick up my broken spirited, wore out hubby at Stoops Freightliner in Indy. After a couple of months, we recieved a call from Diamler Chrysler looking for their truck payments! It seems no one from Dart has corresponded with them about the truck being brought back. Also, there is a co-signer on the lease...Who was that? we never asked anyone to co-sign for us! It was the previous owner of the truck that Dart put on our lease as a co-signer!. I know...what balls! The bottom line is that they will starve you and your family hauling their cheap dry freight! You will never make any money hauling dry freight that can go on a train. The rates are just too cheap and there is too much competition. Haul refrigerated instead, it's consistaint and better rates.

Not to be nosey...and I know no one likes me here...but...how come in all the trucking magazines Dart uses up like 10% of the pages showcasing succesful drivers they have?
What are those succesful drivers doing to make it work?

How are they getting the miles...and you did not?

I'm just curious...

If you go by the magazine ads you would think CR England is the best followed closely by JB, CRST etc. Every trucker knows that this is not the case =You are on a path of misery if you believe those ads.

As a funny positive: You can assume this fleece will have 2 co-signers now -to match its' two rebuilds. -And that is the magic of the fleece = keep signing em' up.

What is the Dart AdVantage? -No one seems to know what/where it is?

I have also inquired about the mythical CRE "Golden Fleece" -Every CRE claims to have heard of it yet when I ask of the "Golden Fleece" it always just seems out of reach or around the next corner.

I really do wish I could explain..but I've been scolded by staff...

But all I'm saying is for years and years...Dart runs adds in all the trucking magazines...and they take up like 30% of the magazines with adds and testimonials...so I just figured they were legite and straight...

I've actually never met a dart driver until now...

Infact...I never ever see Dart trucks...so I guess they are a what..truck leasing company??...

Here's my question...Is Dart a trucking company or a truck leasing company? Which one?
