This company used to be known as Clarksville Refrigerated Lines aka Transport Industries headquartered out of Dallas, Tx. Here are just a few of the bad things going on:
1 - paying current fuel surcharges based on on yard fuel not national average.
2 - taking percentage of stop pay
3 - charging for installation of THEIR equipment - qualcom
4 - refusing to show what loads actually pay
5 - shorting miles on loads
6 - routing loads on bad roads, roads that don't exsist...etc.
7 - not paying actual detention time
8 - making sure dispatcher-owned trucks dispatched first
9 - putting certain Drivers out of service for tires still DOT legal - while letting other Drivers run slick tires AFTER notifing management several times.
10 - constantly monitor paycheck for unauthorized deductions and shortages.
11 - deducting for tag and heavy use tax months in advance.
Oh, and the biggest thing is in the last few weeks only working every other day and not knowning at all when your going to be called for a load. Meaning that you could get up in the morning and not get called til that afternoon for a load that may not be ready until 10pm to 12 pm or later.
greatwide ripoff!

Sounds pretty normal to me.
2,3,5,6,7,8,11 all sound like how business is done.
WHY companies want to run short route miles is beyond me. They are only cheating themselves AND their O/Os. I guess they think they are making it up on taking a % of the stop pay. -
guess he should have read about the great wide driver shortage theory from dallas trucking show, its designed for mexican trucks.. total ##### operation.. Tx the good buddy deal. look at the drivers trucks and who holds the wheel.. says it all..

They also used to go under the name of Refrigerated Transport Express in the Denver area and deliver groceries to Safeway stores. When we were leased to them, they were constantly deducting unauthorized charges from our settlements.

Greatwide has a multitude of trucking companies under them...ATF is one...

If you get the chance to speak to some customers. Some will ask if you are paid practical or HHMG.
Unfortunately for some companies. They are being charged practical based on PCMiler, while drivers are being paid practical, based on HHMG.
Practical "miles" is a misleading concept when a company uses Rand McNally to calculate these practical miles.
Rand McNally has 2 practical settings. One being route, the other being miles. And neither match PCMiler in more than 60% of the routes
Test it yourself if you have both. PCMiler shows 25 miles further from KC to Chicago. Rand McNally uses state highways for MOST of the route, instead of interstates, on practical settings.
On average, PCMiler adds 2-3% to the route, over Rand McNally.
ANY company that doesn't use PCMiler to obtain routing, and claims to pay practical miles. Is cheating their drivers by about 3% still.
How it adds up.
2 runs per week on the above named route at .35 a mile. Equals about $1700 a year per driver...stolen. If your company pays practical using Rand McNally over PCMiler.
It comes up to about $3200 a year if they use the standard HHMG routing.zentrucking and Mirbflower Thank this.
