| Getting Screwed<=> + $  I'm a newbie and after reading all these horror stories of drivers who after even 1 honest mistake are kicked off the truck in the middle of no where 2000 miles from home with no way to get home, I FEEL SICK. I want to know if there is any company who will treat you right. I know witch ones to stay away from but don't know if there any good company's out there who hire students. What about Sunflower Carriers? Thanks  |

| the problem the big problem with that question is im sure you will get a Sunflower is awesome. followed by a sunflower sucks. this is neither. Maybe I havent read the thread on someone being kicked off a truck. But I can bet thats against any company policy and at least a few laws. You want a "good" driving job. Well get some exp then go regional or local. No long haul is a good job or there wouldnt be 120% turn over rates in the industry. Set a goal and take your lumps til you reach it

| Sunflower, from York Nebraska is Shaffer now, altought there are many trailers with Sunflower on them...unless there is another company named that. Shaffer and Crete are great choices for companies whether you are new or not. The trucking industry has a foundation of BS, some can be happy with companies that are intolerable to others. That being said, any company can be good or bad. As for myself after 10 years, i like trucking more now than when the life was new and full of surprises, that were blessings only after i survived them..... more than once |
