My only experience with First Fleet happened about a year ago. I pulled into the Petro/Amarillo for fuel. A First Fleet truck pulled in behind me and the driver walked up as i was starting to enter my info in the card reader. He told me i had to move, as He was on a "dedicated run" and First Fleet had "priority" over everyone else.
Well, after laughing in his face,:biggrin_2559: he walked back to his truck and
'fumed".:biggrin_25510: I don't know if he was really stupid or believed what some idiot at their office told him.
After i fueled and pulled forward, I went to get my fuel ticket. Coming back out to my truck i could hear him boasting to the guy in the next lane how he had made me stop fueling and get out of his way.
Well, fair is fair. He now had a truck behind him and me in front. I was spending the nite there so i was in no hurry to move. After he finished fueling, i walked back to the truck behind him, explained what i was doing and we sat there for quite a while, with him screaming about "we" had to move out of his way.
You have to wonder how some of these driver's get such an attitude. They are more important than anyone.
When i did finally move, he about ran over a woman walking to the building. Wonder if he made his next appt?

I wonder how long it will be until one the anti-driver types blames you for almost getting a woman killed? :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

Could you tell me more about their accident policy Sidewinder? Do they terminate you only for serious accidents that was your fault, or any accident you're involved in no questions asked? I am considering taking a job with them at their Portland, TN facility. I have been driving for 21 years without any accidents at all, so I'd hate to go work for a company that would fire me if I did have an accident without considering my history. Anything can happen to even the best of us, lol.
Is there any other info that you could tell me about them (good or bad)? In 21 years of driving, I have only been with 3 companies. I made a mistake by switching to my current job, so I'm looking again. I just don't want to make a mistake switching again, so I'm trying to do my homework better this time. I live very close to their yard & I am looking for a company that I can stay with long term. Thanks!

i worked in the cedar rapids iowa firstfleet shop for 2 years, they currentley lost their ip account to westside transport due to firstfleets late deliveries and breaking down equipment. this is due to hiring people from jiffy lube and hiring people that have never turned a wrench,
in 2 years there i have seen 3 shop managers come and go, dispatchers that walked out and many othe shop employees go. this does not even include the drivers i have seen come and go. its a crap company that cant take care of their customers or employees, they haved layed off alot of drivers/shop/office employees here in c.r. recentley.they are on the down hill slide to closin up shop here in cr

Yea but look at all the money their saving!

Sounds like a perfect example of a bunch of tightwads getting what they paid for.

Ive talked to First fleet drivers, and have heard bad and good. They seem to be mostly happy.there are the ocassional guffaws about the business, but they seem to be almost fair with their drivers from what I see.

i have seen numerous drivers come back twice because the terminal manager (john h,) told then he would bump up their pay and miles, well it didnt work like that (murfreesboro tn, headquaters ) told him to do that. i know this because the terminal manager was my neighbor and told me alot of info he probably shouldnt have, first fleet started a flat bed account, beware it wont last long.............
