Catprint Red U.S. Express Orientation be prepared

Be prepared that you are not hired until last day.
You can pass drug test and driving test, and still not be hired, with excellent dac report..

You can also be told by recruter they checked and cleard your dac report, and your still not hired.

You will need money to eat on, they supply a small lunch in white foam container no drink included.
Breakfast is a small muffin in plastic bag and coffee machine dispencer. No dinner supplied by company.

You will not be refunded for travel expense to orientation, if not hired.
This includes fuel, rental car or any other expense used to travel.
If you ride the grayhound bus to Orientation you need to find transportaion home at your expense.

Second day of Orientation end of class, you will be told to clean out your hotel room and bring your luggage to orientation location on the third day.

During Orientation exspense refund form is not mentioned.
You find this paper work all the way in the back of paper work givin during orientation.

You find information about leasing trucks in the front and you will be shown a film about leasing a truck from them the first day..

If you lease a truck you will be put in a seperate room during a period of time. Several students were removed and put in another room.

Truck Lease is $450.00 dollars a week, you purchase your own fuel.
Thats $450.00 times 4= 1,800 a month , plus fuel, I'm not sure about the insurance. You can save them 1,800 a month just in truck payments, not including exspensive fuel cost.

You eat out for three days thats dinner and breakfast and its not cheap. Remember you will need additional employment back up.

You are not to be employed by any company when you attend their Orientation. I was told this before driving up. Must not be employed by anyone.

Your physical consist of carrying heavy dumbell waits in crait down a hall turn a circle and walk back. You then are told to lift this heavy crates and place up high on shelf. I watched men struggle caring crates as well as women.

You have additional health checks included.

Be prepared if hired to travel where ever truck is to be picked up, assigned to you.

This means if your sent to chicago or another state, you ride in a rental van with other drivers and your not getting paid. You could ride for several days no pay.

If your not hired you also loose money for sitting in orientation class you will not be paid.

All in All its a very exspensive orientation to risk to drive for pennies.

Also if not hired they can choose not to tell you why. This is when you mention a lawyer, and they will give you a form to fill out and mail in.

They will not tell you about this paper work unless you ask for it.

I think I'm starting to see a trend here. I'm also starting to think that they had a very good reason for turning you down.

Bi polar much?

How many threads do we have to have about the same subject? It seems the moderators ought to step in on this and put an end to it. It is one thing to post one thread but what is this now, 4?

This is a true statement. The doubters in this thread are talking with no experience with USX.

Seems like a standard to me...

I've only worked for 2 different trucking companies, USX being the first, and yes, what he/she says is true, but it seems to be the case for every big carrier out there.

Your comment is interesting. I was scheduled for an orientation on June 8 but was stabbed in the back by to past employers that said they fired me, when actually I quit. Midcities Motor Freight and Vitran Express. Two lousy ### companies for sure. Midcities is in St. Joseph Missouri, their business is Intermodal which is the worse industry in trucking. Their driver turn over is unbelievable which is common in that industry plus their dispatchers don't know how to talk to drivers either. One of their dispatchers recently got out of a state penitentiary in missouri and he is the worst. Drivers beware stay away. They don't pay hourly either. It's performance, or the lower broughs call it piece work.
