Was this at a terminal or a drop yard? Who did you give the keys to? If you left the keys with someone it would have been good to have them give you some sort of receipt as to where you dropped the truck and when and then have them sign it.

Any time a truck is turned in you should get a receipt for the turn in and preferrably also a statement of the overall condition. When I worked for Swift it was like turning in a rental car. They had a sheet that I signed when I got the truck that showed damage and condition. They then signed me out the same way, noting any change in condition. I was given a copy of both inpsection reports and still have them on file two years later.

Hope this works out for you and that you don't get burned.

WHY did you let them get that far behind in paying you?

Missing the first pay check would have been reason enough for me to bail.
