I'll tell you from experience ...

there maintenance sucks...you'll spend more time broke down than running...all there equipment has more than 500k miles on them...the owner Leonard will expect you to fix his equipment...

Thanks for the feedback drvrtech77. Sounds like my old company deBoer Transportation in a way then. If the truck went to a shop for overnight repairs most of time it would take 12-48hrs for the shop to simply discuss the problem with the shop/manager/owner at deBoer about that they want to have done. Pictures would be sent to deBoer and you would wait. All the while you would only be informed if you asked the shop was up to. Then, sometimes deBoer would ship there stuff to wherever you where to use for the repair. Also, you may be told to strap old part down in the back of the trailer and bring back to headquarters... and you may make 4 runs before you get back to the yard. Ridiculous . Thanks again for the reply. Appreciated.

i noticed drivers complain about a companies equipment and how awful it is or how bad the shop is.. alot of the problems come for rookie drivers mis treating the trucks and not reporting bad tires ,lights, leaks in roof ect, ect. and will leave it for another driver to fix. also with drivers like this companies are having a hard time staying in bussiness due to expense of fuel, maint, ins,bad lazy butt drivers.. its not always the companies but the government who is making thisngs hard in america.

They don't hire rookie drivers...only inexperienced mechanics...I saw this first hand and the owner is a cheapskate when it comes to maintenance.

Hey another former de Boer driver!!
I got my start with them and you are correct, maintenance was terrible. They were good, unless you were a truck.

I will never forget limping a truck home with a severe air leak, wrote it up and went to the house for 3 days. Came back and maintenance said "all is good", went to the truck and not a single thing had been fixed. I don't think they even moved it. Anyway good to see another "flying shoe" on here.

Are we perfect? No, of course not. However, we feel compelled to state some facts about Transport Designs. First, lets start with the OP (Original Poster). Since the time he created this thread, he has been back on three different occasions. He only works seasonal. Yes, we know who he is. In fact, he also referred his son to drive for us.

In the last ten years or so our turnover rate has been between 15% and 35% (industry average is over 100%). We recently were awarded as one of the top three carriers in North America thru the TCA. Which could not have been possible without our safety and maintenance programs. If you want to see our safety scores, go to safersys.org and type in our DOT number (272811) and look at the carrier profile and compare it to other carriers.

One of the posters in this thread IS a current driver of ours. We know who you are and we hope you are still happy working for us (even thou you haven't posted in some time) because we LOVE having you as part of our team.

These forums are great and useful; however, anybody can say whatever they would like without facts to back it up.

Call us and we will prove these guys wrong.

    Sincerely
    Transport Designs

Slugtrucker (we know who you are also)....We aren't saying you are lying. Maybe another carrier made a false claim for reasons only they would know why. However, we want to address your claim that we "lied". Below, you will find the original DAC Termination record from August of 2008. So you understand what you are looking at, if someone were to say you "abandoned your truck", it would fall under the "Work Record" submission. Therefore, your statement that we placed that on your DAC is incorrect.

I do not believe anyone questioned your retention or safety score.
I believe the main complaint was the reliability of your equipment, low pay and crappy Bennie's. To which" We are not perfect" seems to be your response? If your maintenance is top 3, why no brkdwn pay?
No one expects perfection. They do expect reliable trucks since they get paid by the mile. Not taking their work home with them to get time off would be a + also.

Duck as you go through doors, Don't want that halo falling off or becoming tarnished at all, I don't believe a word you are saying but I guess that is up to me, I have interacted with a few of your drivers over the years, I'm not impressed. Thanks.
