One trainee I met spent something like 88 days on his trainers truck and not due to driving errors.

In the month that I was with my trainer I only earned approx. 79 hours of drive time (again not due to driving errors).

When I confronted my SDM about this (in a nice way) she brushed me off.

There's a lot more to the story of course, but let's just say that my experience wasn't that great.

I have spoken to many other drivers that are quite content with what Werner offers, but have also been told to get my hours in and RUN hard and fast afterwards.

I think that if you have enough money in the bank to support you and yours for 2-3 months if not more at $250 - $275 a week , than it could be an alright thing I guess.

I am just giving you my opinion and partially stating my experience with Werner.

Of course only you can make the decision. Just do your research and ask a lot of questions.

Like I said earlier. I read ALL the post on Werner, I did the research and still chose not to listen to my wife or any of these people and I learned the hard way.
This info is true about them extending your training by 40-50 hours, they want to extent mine. I told them hell no I wasnt, my trainer I with told them no also, so I am bypassing the extended hours. But students are going through the extended training hours. But since now that I am waiting for the approval of my buddy whom I am teaming with to get hired by Werner, I just may do the extra training to pass time.

I was trying to find out which one offers more miles, better pay, better safety record, better training program, so on and so forth. But it seems to me that whether I choose Werner or Covenant, I will be ****** big time. Well, hopefully not.

I agree, Iraqvet, but their recruiter told me that Southeast Regional (that was what I wanted) has no openings at this point and they will put me on their waiting list. I don't want to run solo 48 states right after one month of training and I don't have a teammate. I tried Schneider but they are not hiring anybody in GA. If I had a teammate, I would go with TA right away.

So far I have made it through orientation. My first impressions of their Allentown PA location. Its nothing special. The hotel is nothing to brag about either but they seem to be ready to help you with your concerns fairly fast. The biggest thing about the company I noticed is you are nothing but a number to them. The first thing you get is an ID number. But that is normal with any company this size. Now I am waiting for a trainer. It is hard to find a nonsmoking trainer so they are sending me to the Ohio terminal to try and speed things up. Pros. All transportation is payed for and I am getting money to sit here and wait. So all in all not to bad.
Good Luck

I work at Werner, and I am as happy as I can be as a truck driver. There are problems, and there are solutions. All companies share this fact. No company is 100% roses. Except CR England... just stay away from them they are the devil.
