some of you guys need to accept the cold, hard fact of life that jobs are merely the byproduct of business and industry. if it wasn't for "evil" rich people starting companies and hiring people, NO one would have a job. it's not just big truck companies, or small truck companies, or truck companies, it's EVERY company. but nobody is forcing a gun to your head and forcing you to take a paycheck from them every week.

it's unfortunate that American companies have destroyed manufacturing, sent these jobs overseas and brought IN indians, mexicans, asians and africans to take away and depress the wages of the few jobs that are still here. (and don't even think about dropping the "R" word - I don't see germans, swedes, brits or frenchman flooding into this country.) but like I said, if you are laid off from a company and then go to bottom dollar (or where ever you shop) and buy a chinese version of the product YOU used to make, then shame on YOU!

Wow "Chief" (If thats really your name) ! Let me get this straight. By the tone your posts, you seem to fancy yourself smarter and better than most others. Your overall theme seems to be "Suck it up and take it like a man, you crybaby". You say things sarcasticly like "10-4 good buddy" using trucker lingo with obvious contempt. What kind of wierd game are you playing? I wonder if you are even a trucker. I have lived long enough to have had very good jobs and very bad jobs. There IS a difference. The difference is people JUST LIKE YOU who kiss up and weasle their way into a low level mangement jobs like dispatcher where they can establish a small scale tyranical dictatorship and proceed to make their own small communist nation. Is that why you chose the name of "Chief"? I think you are either a kiss butt wannabe manager or a full fledged salaried management employee. That would explain why you think you are better and smarter than everyone else. You sure seem to have alot of time to post for such a hard working trucker. When do youever pull a load?
Our brothers and sisters before us have fought and died for the constitutional AND labor rights that you, the big "Chief" would have us ignore and give up. 10-4 buddy, you heard me right! From the blood stained sands of Iwo Jima to the killing fields of the early railroad where government troops slaughtered protesting workers with gatling guns our rights have been forged with blood. Well let me tell YOU something KIMOSABE! As long as the Americian flag is still waiving over the capitol and the red blood of freedom pumps in our vains we are not going to roll over. What we need to do is stick together because our strength is in our numbers.

evidently, you have no idea what you're talking about. and you certainly don't know me. I'm not a management "type." yes, I have driven a truck, and will do so again soon.

don't give me a load of poo about people fighting and dying for "rights." waging war on other countries has nothing to do with "rights." we're a country of freaking "rights." nobody has a "right" to a job. it can be yanked out from under you at any minute. for the people who think that these companies are so rotten - STOP working for them and start you OWN company. then pay the people as much as you think they should be paid, give them all the benefits they want, and treat them as well as you think they should be treated. I predict you'll be bankrupt in about a week. then all of these employees you "treated so well" will be standing in the unemployment line.

I'm tired of the one way nonsense in this country. how about a thread where we discuss how bad employees are and how they mistreat their company, steal from them, and demand ever more wages, benefits, vacations, "rights" and so forth.

I'm NOT your brother. I only have one brother (he's a trucker too.) I think you would find our existence in this country to be much more productive if we would WORK WITH or employer instead of constantly complaining about them and villifying them.
