I wish I would have seen the bone Crushers msg b4 I sent my last one, at the time he sent his he was new to LCT, would love to hear what he has to say now, because, as with most companies, when you are new to them they treat you like gold, about 3 months later you get thrown into the old drivers pile and the crap starts. Unless he's a go with whatever they dish out, he to will see what we are talking about, when I first started with them it was before the Thanksgiving holidays they not only dhd me home with pay for the miles from the Hump to La, but they also dhd me from home in La to p/u in Champaign,Ill with pay. The next month I was out 3 wks and was stuck in Philly 4 Christmas, and they would never get me home to keep Dr. appts. which was only every 4 months set ahead of time. Yes, I have been a dispatcher, broker and worked payroll. I do know the stress and time that it takes to do those jobs as well, I always try to be curtious to the office personnel, but, if your policy is that a trip can't pay without the paperwork and the reimburstments go with the trip and you put 4 trips in a FEDEX envelope and they sy they only recieved 3 but the reimburstments for the trip they say they didn't recieve got paid then someone is pulling a fast one because that trip would have had me with over 4300miles on payroll for that week, they don't want that. You can't cover up or sugar coat what they are doing there. I also know they fired a dispatcher for telling a driver the truth about a load. This I witness myself along with alot of other wrong doing. You can wrap poo in a bow, but, it's still poo.

You are so right! I'll guarantee that in a matte of weeks he'll be one unhappy guy. The thing that I wonder about is why a guy with 29yrs. in would be happy with 33.5 per mile. That kind of experience is usually better served at an LTL carrier. Gotta be a bad driving record or some other skeleton in the closet.

    Folks,
I have been driving here in the states since 1999. My record is perfect, and have a 100% on time delivery record. What do I get for this?

Unemployed since March 20. An offer from a Oklahoma company for 25 cents a mile. How is that for funny?

    aladdin sane,Hyper,
I'm glad i'm not the only one that see that, with only 11+ yrs otr, I wldn't want to take such a cut in pay. I do believe he hasn't told us the rest of the story. Hyper sorry to hear what's going on with you, n I feel your pain. As we all figured out I'll say more than 5-6yrs ago, these companies started getting rid of the senior drivers, who were out to make a living and have a family to care for along with trying to have a little more in life, so they can replace us with new drivers(students) who the can pay less and run like robots. Young folks with no responsibilities who can stay out months at a time, cause they don't have a pot to squirt in n a broken window to throw it out, and don't need to make a living. Just enough to blow off on whatever, hang out on weekends where they sit them. You know the spill. Regarless of wether or not they have a quality driver. It's a shame that in a country that's was so rich with possibilities has lil to no respect to the seniors that help pave the way, and could care less how they survive. I'm not sure what I'm going to do wether I'll keep trying to stay in this industry or not. Something has to give. tc guys always glad to hear from you.

It does seem that the longer you've been somewhere the more of a liability you become. The days of placing value on experience and knowledge seem to be long gone. It's all about how cheap you can get it done that's for sure.

You are true in your post about this company. Luckily, I only stayed with them for 6 mos. when I first started my career 15 years ago. Your statement about their constantly beeping qualcomm messages "why aren't you moving" brought back a good laugh!! After driving and unloading a 14 stop flower run in a snowstorm we pulled over to rest and had to hang the qualcomm out the window to get some sleep from their constant bugging about why we weren't moving. Fortunately, I found a company that would take me with only 6 mos. experience and ended up staying 9 years, until I got hired on with walmart 5 years ago. I'm sure there are drivers that are happy driving for LCT, but I was certainly not one of them, and almost changed careers before I even got started because I thought if this is the way truck drivers are treated, I need to get out, but luckily I found a company that changed my perspective about driving, and I am happily doing what I love, and finally getting paid well for it.

I, too, started my career with LCT. I trained at the Streetsboro, OH. terminal. I'd been around trucks since I was a small child. I, literally, did more to help the other "students" there than the trainers. A few of the students thought I was a pompus #$$. After a few days, they were thanking me for helping them understand what they needed to do to pass the testing. I have a very different approach to teaching people how to maneuver the trucks. The trainers began implimenting my methods. you think I got credit for it? At LCT? Laughable. It got to a point where the main trainer was trying to get rid of me. Job security, I suppose. About five years ago, I qualified to become a "feild trainer" at a local community college. The pay wasn't there. Maybe, when I get sick of being on the road, I'll explore this again. I satyed with LCTs .22 cpm for about two months. Most miserable two months of my life.

That IS better miles than some drivers get !!!!

When I left there, I turned in everything, got that sheet w/checklist signed off.

My final check was accurate, and cashed with no problem.

Guess I was the lucky one !!!
