And thanks notraps for the elaboration, wow. I'm guessing they blamed you for the problems.
When I first got there I was talking to other drivers. They said watch out for my FM that he was a jerk. This coming from other prime flatbedders. After He sent me on that wide load ordeal. I sent that I was not happy and this was ate up. He tried to pass it off like nothing. After I got it secured I sent a message back telling him I was not at all happy and this was his goof up. He was gone, but night dispatch said it was his fault and I should have been told before hand. The next day he was cold and just blew me off. I don't know if he got chewed out or what, but he was not happy with me.
After I quit and turned in my truck my former co could not get a response from them if I turned the truck in. They wanted to know if I had a name and number so they could talk to him personaly. All they needed to know was that I turned in the truck and that I had no accidents. He must have really bad mouthed me because they said he was a real jerk. I have worked for them over a year and I was in the top 1/3rd of their whole fleet in fuel milage. I even placed in the top 10 drivers on the board that I was on. They know what kind of a driver I am. They even told me they believed me over him, so he must have really told up a good one. I will be checking my DAC soon to see what this goofball has done.

So you were there a year. Can a guy make the kinda money I have mentioned? Was the whole year bad? Was it mainly the FM or was it the company? Does the company use up and abuse their drivers?

I was set to go train for the cdl and do their training. (I've already written about my concerns).

Thanks again.

No, I was with my former co over a year. I was with prime 4 weeks. I went back to my former co, after they contacted prime to make sure I returned the truck.

OK, thanks. I read it wrong.

Your former employer taking you back on says that they know you to be a decent driver.

Being a decent driver was part of it. The clincher was when they found out he was Member of the Month here at the Truckers Report. Then they had to have him back. Bet he got a big raise too. Great info about Prime from a very well respected driver.

Thank you for the kind words! I would have liked to added to your rep with a thank you quote. Too bad we lost that on account of a few whiners and abusers.

I went over to that site and went to the flatbed div. Someone asked about the equipment. Tarps, and chains. Wanted to know how they billed you. The admin of the site said weekly payments of a 100 bucks. Yeah right they took out $3700 lump some on me out of 1 check. bad thing was they did it twice.....

I'm probably as responsible as any one else. No big deal. When I need a dot to let me have self respect it's time to go. Have heard every thing in the book about Prime. I would heed your advice before any others I have read. You just don't mess with a man's{or woman's} money. And that's the last thing you want to do in your off hours is sit on phone trying to get it back. Just bad to get people's hopes up and them beat them down. Everyone's got enough problems on their own. Don't need your employer adding to the burden.

I'm sorry NoTarps..I HATE that you have gone through #### with Prime.I have NOT worked for them so I can't give an opinion on them. Believe me when I say I read what I read like I listen to truckers on the CB or in a T/S.There are patterns and if you watch or listen they will usually emerge. Once that happens I know what to process and what to throw away( usually).

Now my question to you is, did you go through Prime training and do you work for them now?

There have been bad stories that sound more truthful than the good stories I have heard. The site you have mentioned is run by 'ram rods' who don't like questions asked that they don't like. When it does happen they find a way to turn it around on you. When drivers have a problem with trucks, they blame it on the drivers, they blame the drivers for everything. This tells me they are working for Prime in some way.

As for eating. I don't gorge myself. I just want to eat food that is good for you. I don't eat lemon pies just to hit the spot, or fill me up. I loved them and left them a few years back. I expect to stop and get decent food eat it and put some on the truck. It has been said that trainers do what they want. If they do then they can have there truck to themselves. When there's 2 people on the truck respect and consideration is do to both. I do give ..... who's truck it is. It sounds like there are no rules which would not be in the trainees favor.

What I'm I getting at here? I can't afford to spend time on a truck only to find out you can't stop and eat decent food, or what ever, when you need to the way I've read it. If I need breakfast, then I need to stop, same with lunch and same with dinner. If these time frames aren;t fit into team driving then somethings wrong.

As for their training. It is to long no matter what anyone says. What it is is a training program that turns into a "buy in " program. I would have more respect for them if they just came out and said it.

I may sound a bit sharp but I have spent months on all this and looking at Prime as well as interviewing about 25-30. I feel like it has been a waste of time looking into Prime if what I have come believe about them is true. They may well be a pyramid scheme of some sort.

Oh..You misread my post..Maybe I wrote it wrong, if so I am sorry...I do NOT nor have I ever worked for Prime.I can NOT say if they are a good or bad company.

My reply was mostly about the training questions and opinions that you have about it. Such as that is to long to train..I disagree wholeheartedly. Yes, it is a VERY long time to be in a truck with someone. No doubt about it. Is it fun? Sometimes it is..But you know, like everything it is all a matter of the attitude you go in with.

I don't know about this "buy in" after training. Have not looked into it so I can only say I think your talking about the option to lease AFTER training. I think (but not sure) all the companies that have lease programs would offer that after training.

Like you I searched and asked questions on boards before I made my decision. At that time Prime was never even mentioned. However, I can tell you had they been I would have considered the training if it is as I have read on the board.

When I trained we had food on the truck and had a meal in a T/S when time allowed. I have run teams and can tell you some loads do NOT allow you the time to stop and eat in a restaraunt. I have always kept food in my truck and prefer it to any t/s.

Yes respect should go both ways..I said and will say again you are a guest on your trainers truck. The trainer should respect you and should consider your needs. But ultimately the truck , the loads, and you are his responsibility..

Yes, I understand what you are saying about the other board. I am saying what I am saying just as a driver. No company endorsing here. I don't think you wasted your time looking at Prime..You just don't know yet what you learned during the search

There's no way for me to prove what I've learned except to get on with them. I believe I' ve sensed enough to not take a chance with Prime, something stinks there.

My reading, and my talks with drivers, all tell me to go with SNI. A good training program, 4-6 weeks. Then you solo. None of that 3-4 months baloney.

I though you were speaking from experience with Prime. Sorry I got it wrong.
