| Source Logistics - Russellville, AR SOURCE LOGISTICS ~ RUSSELLVILLE ARKANSAS This is one crazy company to work for... Their advert on Yahoo Jobs and Denver Post Classifieds is pretty impressive. .34 Cents Per Mile with a 2200Mile Per week Guarantee, extra stop pay, benefits, and so forth. Here's The Real Deal.... The trucks are beat up old Penske Volvo's with no power, and always breaking down. The trailers are even worse than the trucks. Tires dry rotted, brakes not working, doors dented and twisted-making them hard to close, reefers that stop working. The pay is based on .34CPM with a 2200 Mile per week guarantee-BUT I guarantee that you will drive more than 2200 miles, and not get paid for the extra miles. You will HAND UNLOAD 90,000Lbs to 120,000Lbs per week. Tail Gate groceries into prisons and jails around a five state region. They provide a pallet jack, but most of the jails that actually do have docks, won't help you pull a 5000Lb pallet up-hill into their receiving area. I promise you that if your needing a workout; Source Logistics is the place to get it... Drive 500 miles through a snow storm, high winds, sleet, rain, fog, and traffic-but be prepared to get your butt chewed if your late for delivery appointment. Pay is every week; but its a sad day... They claim to pay $10 for each extra stop. You will have 3-5 stops a day, and they take away the first and last stop. Yep-your hand unloading for 3.33 a stop. Sound slike a deal huh? That's just the first two days Monday and Tuesday when you run local. Then comes the longhaul part of the week. On tuesday you pickup at 6am and work until 4pm delivering freight, then jet back to the warehouse and reload for a 500-600 miles (overnight) trip. Dont Be Late Either! Your going to be constantly running to the repair shop (at your expense), sitting for a couple days waiting for a reload-without pay-and doing all kinds of extras for dispatch during the week. Complain to someone you say? Doesn;t work because they dont care. Dispatch goes home at 6m, and has the weekend off. They push you to run double logbooks, demand that you work all day lumping freight, and then drive all night for the next stop. It's no wonder there were 11-drivers in my truck before I got into the seat. Go Figure! |
