Some interesting math...

At the bottom of the 1Q report posted above is the following info:

Operating statistics excludes fuel surcharges:

Average freight revenue per loaded mile $1.500 $1.506 -0.4% Average freight revenue per total mile $1.339 $1.351 -0.9% Average freight revenue per tractor per week $3,001 $2,992 0.3% Average miles per tractor per period 29,149 28,475 2.4% Weighted avg. tractors for period 3,553 3,686 -3.6% Tractors at end of period 3,533 3,693 -4.3% Trailers at end of period 8,512 9,524 -10.6%

If we take the average freight revenue per tractor and divide it by the average freight revenue per total mile we get average (mean) miles per truck of 2238. Thus, if your Covenant recruiter tells you you'll get more miles per week than 2238 you can be reasonably sure he is misinformed. BRI

Very well said. I am golf clapping for you as we speak.

I wonder if a class action law suit could be filed against CARB for mandating no ilding in Communistfonia, and there by making our jobs unsafe and uncomfortable, when trying to get rest?

Lotsa' Nerve

First off if companies such as Covenant began to disappear, I think the industry would be better off as a whole.
Secondly, anyone that would work for a company that told it's drivers they had no right to be comfortable during rest periods sorta deserves what they get.
Lastly, if a company isn't going to provide APU's then idling should not be made an issue until they do.

Head games are being played

This company is playing a head game.

"They're trying to scare me, the Covenant driver, into teaming."

All the outfits will be playing this game before much longer, so it's a 'fill in the blank' thing. Substitute any other outfit's name for Covenant.

If you file a lawsuit, it will go nowhere. The defendant(s) will claim you can simply double and triple bunk while sleeping. Yeap, all you have to do is find another Covvie truck and bunk with him. You can both split the 5-bucks-per-hour charge, so it isn't that unreasonable. Triple sleepers can split the charge three ways. At least this will be the argument used, and you'll be shot down.

Teaming is here, gentlemen & ladies.

I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight

You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

They do that, then the drivers had better get a route dispatched for them and then drive it. Will put an end to them paying shorter route and expecting the driver to take the faster route.

Same here. I could not sleep when I was teamed or trained as it was.
