Thumbs down Shame On You Swift Driver

I was on the 285 Atlanta by-pass a while ago, and was passing a swift truck, and came to the realization of why they are involved, or cause so many accidents. This idiot driver had a BLACK GARBAGE BAG taped to his driver side window!!!!!!! I mean TOTALLY covered. Now how the blank can he see anyone or anything out his window?? Swift never ceases to amaze me

I reckon he locked his keys in the truck and had to get in it somehow. What you saw was the result.

Then it must have made too much sense for him to simply put on sunglasses, huh?

Not sure how people can drive like that. I know a driver who had a piece of cardboard where the window had broken out temporarily. If I couldn't see out my passenger window, I would've taken out a phone pole the other day. Well, the pole would've taken out my trailer. Thought I swung wide enough, but didn't. Even waited for all the traffic to clear so I had the room. Despite the honking cars, I had an undamaged trailer. With as many Swift drivers screwing up right turns (and left turns, backs, and highway driving) as they do, I can't believe one would have the balls to not be able to see that mirror.

Last week I was at the TA in Wytheville, VA. A Swift driver backed into a Werner Peterbilt and tore the driver's mirror off and cracked the front fender. While the police officer was there filling out the report, a 2nd Swift driver decided to back into another space, and ended up backing into a 3rd Swift driver who was waiting behind Swift #2! The cop just shook his head and commented, "this is going to be a long night."

Sure Wish I Finished Training!!!!

Wow... and everyone knows people are EXTRA cautious when police are around. I'd hate to see what would've happened if he weren't there. CyberGal would've been posting a news story about a pile-up--IN A PARKING LOT!

A call to the safety man at Swift would have been great. It amazes me the idiotic stuff young drivers will do. I see them text messaging, driving with the foot on the dash, seat let down so low they can barely see over the wheel. I had a young driver tell me a few weeks ago in Virginia that he never shows anything on the bottom line of the logbook but fuel. No pretrip, no live load or unload, no drop and hook trls. I attempted to explain how he needs to correct that and he told me I was wrong and it saved him money. I shook my head and left him alone. We arent the only ones that cause these issues, I see plenty of other carriers with the same troubles, all the "entry level" carriers have this deal.

Ooops, I guess I should have been clearer on my thread. This idiots window wasnt broken lol, he just had the black bag taped to the window, why I dont know. He had it cracked a couple inches tho, maybe for air, cuz I could only see the top of his head. And you know how busy the by-pass is. I would have called the safety dept. But didnt get his truck number.

He'll figure it out the first time he gets a DOT inspection. In the end, it won't save him money. I've actually heard it's cheaper to "lose" your logbook than it is to have it falsified or not up-to-date. Even those little violations can be costly.
