JB Hunt - and on-line recruiters

I am out of a job so I did what most of us do and put in a application and calls to these driving jobs sites, low and behold these call backs are second level recuriters for JB HUNT. Due to the situation that I find myself in (see my post in Truckers Legal Advice), I find it to be just like JB HUNT to add some of these places and cards (the little ones at truck stops) that they are in fact JB HUNT people. So you are warned ahead of time.
Also I read somewhere in this JB HUNT that they recurite for other companies (HA!) I asked a recuriter about this and they and I quote, "Where did you hear that from because we only look for people for our company".
Shame on you JB HUNT

Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up, Deer. Many here already know about JoBHunt, though. Mainly it's "go to work for 'em today and be looking for another job tomorrow."

Many companies, including JoBHunt, have begun to farm out recruiting duties so they themselves don't have to keep recruiters on payroll. This is smart, as in-house recruiters are often paid commission. Not only this, but a recruiter's mission and a company's mission are at odds most of the time. Recruiters love turnover, but turnover is a problem if you're an outfit trying to keep your trucks rolling, at least theoretically. Hence, the recruiting is outsourced.

Freelance recruiters are free to recruit for whomever they want. The more, the merrier. But most recruters are smart enough to know that a driver candidate may not qualify for the outfit he's most interested in. So the recruiter sets him up with second and third choices ahead of time, just in case. A recruiter who recruits in a linear fashion is somebody who is not very efficient. If I were a recruiter, I wouldn't tell a driver to go to one company in particular, sit around waiting to see if he gets on, and then try another one if he gets rejected in orientation. No way. I'll give him several names of companies in one basket and tell him to try them all. One he likes will no doubt hire him this week. I'd then immediately move to the next candidate. Such is the way of the commission world.

Have you ever been on the recieving end of this type of recruitment?

Talk about madness !! The phone ringing 2-3 times (or more) a day for a week as you try to sort through them.

Then, as you commit to one. The ONE you actually wanted calls.

Then your phone continues to ring, for weeks on end. After you've taken a job.

Yep! been on both end of this one. But in my case I went with one company for awhile then the one I really wanted called me. I did go with the one I wanted now I'm not able to get with any company.
I have a post under "Truckers Legal Advice" it gets a lot of looks but no replies.

If I were a recruiter....

I'm saying what I'd do IF I were a recruiter. If I were a recruiter, I wouldn't care if drivers get pestered by companies day in and day out. If I were a recruiter, and I'm damn sure glad I'm not, I'd no doubt be pestered day in and day out by unqualified drivers wanting a job at my outfit, drivers who may have been rejected by other outfits for good reasons. I guess it cuts both ways. Again, I'm glad I'm not a recruiter. I would rather stick needles in my eyes than be a trucking company recruiter.
