I would just like to add some rational thought here. Swift does not issue cdl's that would be the states that do that. Second, the FMCSA is going to make it more difficult for immigrants to get cdls with a strict regulation requiring the immigrants to have a working knowledge of the english language, no longer allowing translators to be part of the process.

I just hauled a brand new GREAT DANE trailer with the new Swift logo and I keep seeing many new trailers being yanked around everywhere and many new tractors in the yards. Sorry guys, they're not going anywhere any time soon.

Would also add that all the big companies use illegals, I used to work for Kroger and the Atlanta whse got raided one night and most of the grocery dc employees ran like hell, jumping over fences etc. Luckily, our perishables had already been loaded and we received our delivery that night, 8 hrs late that is. Most of their employees are mexicans folks. BTW, I don't run into too many mexican swifties unless I'm in TX 10-4.

Are you saying the hotel smells or the truck stop? If it is the truck stop, there is nothing unusual about that. I haven't found one yet that doesn't smell that way. It is because there are so many lazy truck drivers that cannot even go inside to take a leak. Yet if someone peed in their driveway at home they would be all ticked off about it.

They used to stay at the super 8 in lewiston, now they stay at the Guest House inn, 2 people to a room unless you pay for your own, super 8 is next to the flying j, guest house inn is far from the truck stop but there is a place accross the street from the guest house that makes great hamburgers and fries, you wont leave hungry.

You were a 'second logbook', meaning you pretty much were used just to keep the truck rolling illegal?? If that is true, that wont fly with me. Ill call the DM or whoever and say, "look, i'm not here to put more money in the trainers pocket, i am here to train, and if i am not going to get it, and only going to be used to drive the truck 4000+ miles a week, ill wait for another trainer."

I am NOT going to do anything that will be illegal, i'll be the one stuck paying the fine, not anybody else.

Was in Marshalltown,IA last week, flatbed load, NOT WITH SWIFT, went to local Wal-Mart, ICE shoulda been there!!!! 85% was nospeaky. Crap-hole of a town altogether too. No wonder high population of illegals.
