| Folk's, it's really simple! You want to report a bad company? Let me make it real easy for all of you. I am not being condescending, just being helpful. You have read numerous posts here from drivers about different companies. They all seem to lead to the same conclusion. Drivers not being paid properly, lied to and basically being treated like cr*p. There are very few exceptions in this field. It appears that it is very simple to come up with the bad companies. I'm serious, it's really easy. Let me help you. You want answers? I'm here to help. First of all, Look for ads. You know the ones. Just go to ANY truckstop and you will find numerous trucking magazines. Starting from the first page and going to the last, you will find companies advertising the need for drivers. THESE are the companies you need to avoid!!!!! Why do you think that they constantly need to advertise? Do you think that they have so much freight that they can't keep up with demand? Or, do you think that, quite possibly, they have such a huge turnover that they need drivers to haul the freight they already have? Drivers are leaving in droves for any number of reasons. Ah, now we are getting somewhere. Think about it. I mean really ask yourself this question. If it was such a good company, why the constant hiring? Don't you think that if these companies were "so great", there would be little to any hiring because no one would want to leave. Makes perfect sence to me! This also applies to the majority of newspaper and internet ads. Apply the above process. Yes there are good companies out there. I know, I work for one. Many drivers have found them and those companies do not have to place ads for obvious reasons. Best of luck to all of you in your search for a good company. You're going to need it. You will find one. Take your time and ask others. Your dreams of diving a truck and making a good living will come true. Drive safe |

| It is really simple.....go wherever you need to go and SAFELY get a Class A CDL. Put your time in, and LEAVE for a GOOD company with good pay. Anywhere you look, you will always find SOMEONE complaining about this company or that company. It might be the wrong fit for you, but it might be the perfect fit. Many drivers b!tc# about not having alot of 'home time'. Well, you got into a business where you know you will be driving 100s of miles on the road. you MIGHT not get home every weekend, you might not get home every 10 days. You KNEW this going into the interview. Dont blame the company because you think the company works for you. I hate to say it, but in case you didnt know, YOU work for the company |

Maybe I'll just have to try to figure out all the distribution centers in my area and go in and apply. I don't know if I have very good chances working for the good companies though because I'm only 21 and have 6 months experience. |

You have decided to go to Swift and as you say Quote:
I really think you need to completely stop posting until you have completed your training, and are on the road with your "Experienced (6 months) Trainer" for at least a few months. At that point I would love to hear what your thoughts are! |

Please take note that I only stated the majority of newspaper etc ads. I think that those resources are obviously better than any ad in a truckstop magazine. The big companies the the absolute worst to work for. Unless you like to be paid poorly, be away from home for long periods of time, pay a lot for benefits, pay for expenses on the road, and sepend a lot of time working for free etc. Just look at the companies on here. You mentioned that you looked at websites for various companies. You just might have to drive there and inquire about employment. Beverage distributors pay well but you will have to work for it. Theres nothing wrong with that. I know, I worked for Pepsi for a short time. Good pay/benefits but long hours. I just prefer running tankers. Good luck in your search. Drive safe |
