| Another quick word of advice, one I am usually guilty of not following, make sure you pay close attention to your pay stubs. Especially if you work for a big company. Just got off the phone with USX. Was wondering why my pay is so much lower than what I was told. Two reasons: 1. Per diem scam. I though the per diem thing was they just didn't tax a portion of your pay. Suppose I didn't pay close enough attention. Actually they not only not tax a portion of your pay, but they also pay you less. If you add your pay rate to the perdiem, it's much less than your pay rate. 2. They were paying me based on two years experience. Two of the companies I worked for are no longer in business, Proline Carriers, and Scooters Trucking. Therefore they didn't count my time with these folks. They are looking into it now, and I would expect back pay (ha, yea right). But if I didn't keep track of my pay, I'd get screwed indefinetely (well, at least without knowing it). Oh, and other news, looks like Joe no longer works in recruiting. Hmmmm. Promotion? Or firing? Maybe the poor chap just got a better job. Lieing all day can ware you out. Was fun giving his replacement Jake grief on all the broken promises. Would have been more fun to rip Joe a new one though. | And who is IDC? Do they have western runs? I think I might just have to save up and buy me a Volvo Interstate Dist, Co. There home terminal is in Tacoma Wa and they have a west 11 fleet 48 state Fleet, Heavy Haul that runs mainly Northwest, Refer Fleet, teams etc. They also Have a main terminal in Lebanon TN. They gave me a brand new loaded Volvo 780 complete with a fridge shore power battery shutoff and a pop up table in the bunk when I was there. But after 2 weeks gave it back because I just like driving the frtshkrs better. |

| IDC I've read up on IDC on TheTruckersReport.com. Seems they are a bit like USeless. They are good for teams, but not so good for singles. There trucks are great, but the pay is low. Hmmm, so hard to find the ideal trucking job. Suppose that's why I'm still here at USeless Xpress. According to my calculation (which may be incorrect), I make an average of $0.26 cents per odometer mile after taxes, with per diem. That should be $0.32 cents per paid mile after taxes, and $0.34 CPM before taxes. US pays on a scale. Wish I could remember what I was making at my first company, Proline Carriers, after trucking school, but I'm sure I wound up making more than that. |

| I was making $0.36 a mile at IDC and USX and the per diem was optional. I did not see the difference in treatment between solo's and teams that I saw at USX and you can get a new truck at IDC as a solo unlike at USX which was unlikely as a solo to get one with less then 2 to 3 hundred K on it. Believe me. I worked for both company's and IDC was far better to work for IMO. After working 6.5 years at USX, working at IDC was a cake walk. |
