Smiley 5 Is JB Hunt bad to work for?

I am a driver offered a job with JB Hunt but have heard they are not to good to drive for? Anyone out there have any experience on this?

I went to Chicago for orientation, only to be sent home because they needed a Dr. letter explaining that I am not on medications anymore as a result of an accident I was in.

Now that I have provided that they would like me to go back to Chicago on a Greyhound again for orientation and if this company is bad I dont want to waste my time.

I am looking for a good company to drive for. Please let me know your thoughts!

Avoid them like the plague. Any other TL company for that matter is usually best avoided.

Having read a ton of info on this site, and having sat at the phone in the Lowell HQ, I can say this with certainty:

It depends on 1. The Job. 2. Your Income Requirement and 3. Who your dispatcher is/which dedicated you're on.

Well lets see, my income requirement was to make as much as I can. 2) My dispatcher was I believe her name was Christen the training DM.. 3) No dedicated, just a lot of BS from JB on how much money I was going to make...Plus the truck I had was a POS it was down more than it was up..

Noted that too. OTR gets hassled and noted on here more often than you see other things. If it's OTR, automatic steer clear.

Use your own judgement concerning some of the other things they tell you.

I agree with Mr Dude, it depends on what job you take and other factors like who is your FM.
Another thing to note. I remember sitting at the office at the first of the year and getting to find out who were the top paid drivers at JB for the previous year. The top 2 paid drivers were in two jobs where you see the most complaints from drivers. One was on the family dollar account and made a little over 90K. The other was an OTR driver.
Also I found funny that the happiest drivers who didnt complain were always on the dedicated runs that didnt pay that much...about 700 bucks a week. I couldnt ever figure it out.
I guess like any job, how much BS you are willing to put up with has a lot to do with pay.
